A lot of people from lake county, napa county, Sonoma County. We also got a report from someone who felt it in menlo park. You mentioned that we are used to seeing quakes up there in the geysers. This is one of the larger ones that we have seen. We just had an earthquake in windsor. Thats how people felt. Daniel brown tweeted also. My building shook in downtown santa rosa. 4. 7. Were earthquake veterans here. We know it is not huge but you will feel it if youre right there. Some of us feeling the rain tomorrow. We will all be feeling it. The wind is also a big component to the weather story, steve. That is correct. We will have an update. A 5. 0 followed by a 3. 0, there were two there. After shock probably. We will focus our attention once we get to the information here. There was a 4. 7 and 5. 0 in lake county. Lots of low clouds. Lots of fog and drizzle. Light rain. Some locations in the Russian River are over an inch of rain. In case you missed it, quake northwest of the geysers. Followed by a 3. 0 about 8 46. So if you were wondering. Tomorrow will be all about wind and then rain. For some it will be both eventually. The system might take a while to get to south of San Francisco and oakland and concord out to antioch. It will by thursday night and friday. Could be intense rainfall rates coming through with the system. It wont stall but it has a lot of available moisture. High wind warning for the sierra over the crest. 100 Miles Per Hour plus. It is very tropical like here. We get temperatures in the 50s. Dew points in the 40s. So the humidity is very high. A tremendous amount of moisture that streams up from the west southwest. Look for a cloudy day. Sun breaks out. To the north, it will be rain. Some of it will be a continuous rain. Especially from santa rosa, marin county north. It keeps going and going. There will be impressive totals over the next 24 hours. The breeze is turning southeast. This is really going to crank up by tonight and tomorrow. I expect gusts of 55. 50s on the temperatures to 60s in the mountains. 49 in fairfield. For some it is cold. For others it is warm and muggy. Trump says he created a business climates that produced millions of jobs and lowered Energy Prices in texas. In just a few hours a whos who of Silicon Valley will be sitting down with donald trump. On the invite list, apples tim cook, google, and executives from facebook, tesla, microsoft, oracle, and ibm. It will focus around jobs and keeping them in the u. S. The ceo of ibm pledged to do that. He will create 25,000 u. S. Based jobs in the next four years. Just yesterday, microsoft founder and bill gates met with mr. Trump. Here is what he shared. A quick comment. We had a good conversation about innovation. How it can help in health, education, impact of foreign aid and energy. And wide range of conversation about the power of innovation. Two issues expected to be on the table are the advices afor Foreign Workers and bringing manufacturing jobs back to the u. S. Donald trump campaigned on the promise to rid the visa program. Many Tech Companies say they cant find enough skilled American Workers to fill the positions. We will share those with you at 9 30. What started off as a house Fire Investigation in Castro Valley has turned into an arson and homicide case. Allie rasmus is live on the scene and explains investigators are still not sure why this victim was the target and what the motive was. Allie. Reporter well, investigators put out the call yesterday to neighbors to share with them any Surveillance Video that they may have that may help them with this investigation. Neighbors stepped up. The sergeant tells me that they are reviewing several sources of video that came from some of the neighbors in this area. And that some of that video has proved particularly helpful. Now, this is the home where this all happened. This is grove way and Tanglewood Drive in Castro Valley. It started out at 3 00 Tuesday Morning as a one alarm fire. You see evidence of the fire that happened here. They put tarps over the roof. They found the body of a 59 yearold woman who lived alone in the garage. It wasnt until after the womans body was taken to the Coroners Office that investigators discovered she had been killed before the fire and the house and body set on fire afterwards. Investigators believe the fire was deliberately set in an attempt to destroy evidence of the crime. Neighbors were shocked and scared about what happened here. Because investigators dont know if the victim knew the person who did this to her or if it was a random crime. Were still trying to figure out how this could have happened. Its concerning. Everybody in the neighborhood is concerned. Im going to get surveillance soon. And im going to start paying a little more attention to what is going on. Im sure the other neighbors will do the same. Reporter the Alameda County Coroners Office has not released the victims identity. But she and her husband lived here for 30 years. Her husband recently passed away. She was living alone when this happened. Investigators have been out here throughout the evening. Now that it is daylight hours, some of the crime scene technicians will go back in the home and take pictures and use 3d Imaging Technology that they have to try to piece and put together the crime scene here. What would you do if you were greeted been a alligator in his storm drain. One man reacted by pulling outside hit cell phone. We caught up with his and his creepy discovery. Reporter take a close look at this video. Look at the eyes on this massive gator. Lewis recently spot touchdown in a storm drain outside of his home. I went out to retrieve my mail. And i felt some vibrations on my feet. Me thinking it was an earthquake. Florida, no. So i felt it again and i heard sounds. So i went ahead and looked into the sewer. And low and behold, i see an alligator. Reporter listen closely as it uses its own roar on lewis. It was just hanging there and hissing at me. Like a growl. I guess it was warning me. I was shocked. I couldnt believe it. I said to myself, wow, now i have seen everything. Reporter besides the gator, lewis ran into another creature on the other side of the fence. This is video of a big bear a few days ago. It was in the 300pound range. What were you more scared of, the bear or the alligator . Honestly both but the alligator. How come . He seemed more he seemed a little more excitable than the bear. Reporter lewis says all sorts of animals hang out by the retention pond in the back of his house, including the alligator. Quick thinking neighbors and fast action by oakland firefighters helped rescue people from a Burning House just hours ago. Firefighters were called about 6 00 a. M. To the 19th street home. A neighbor saw the flames and banged and kicked on the door to get everyone out. One person still on the second floor when firefighters got there. And they used a fire ladder to rescue this person. In the meantime, firefighters in santa rosa quickly put out an overnight warehouse fewer. The three alarm fire started at 2 00 a. M. On 8th and Wilson Street near 101 south of the mall. It took about 90 minutes to put it out. Several businesses were in that large warehouse, including a copperfields bookstore and storage units. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Well, San Francisco pet owners, you should watch your dogs even closer because dog nappings are on the rise. And one was actually caught on camera. A dog was stolen in september from outside of a whole foods store. Its leash was wrapped around a pole but the thief took the leash off and stole the dog. The police are vising pet owners not to leave dogs tied up anywhere. And officers say it is both illegal and it also increases the chance that your dog might be stolen. At 10 00 this morning, tickets go on sale for next years bottle rock festival with a limited number of three day passes being made available. More than 80 bands are expected at bottlerock. We dont know the names of the bands yet. That should be announced on january 3rd. It will be held at the Napa Valley Expo Center between may 26th and the 28th. 120,000 people were at last years festival. Those are just some of this mornings headlines from our news room. Mike, sal and gasia, ill send it back to you. Thank you, dave. Federal investigators are looking for the exact cause of the deadly oakland warehouse fire that killed 36 people. Lead investigators are focusing on the electrical system, part of the warehouse. The oakland fire chief is defending her department. She says it never inspected the warehouse because no one was supposed to be living there or holding parties there. She also says no one ever filed a complaint with the Fire Department about People Living there. The Alameda County District Attorney will wait until the investigation is complete to decide if any criminal charges will be filed. Were also hearing from a technician in Alameda County Coroners Bureau. She reached out to us about what it was like the days following the fire. I wanted people to know how hard the people at this office worked to help the families and the victims of the fire. Reporter victoria says she was called in to work on the morning after the ghost ship fire. For her and others at the Coroners Bureau, it was the start of several 15hour days. Her job, talking to families who wanted answers. The hardest ones were mothers and fathers asking if they would be able to see their sons and daughters. At a memorial. Reporter a question that she couldnt answer. But there was something that she could do. We didnt know what to do except sit on the phone and just listen to them. I had a lot of parents tell me stories about their sons and daughters. Reporter a team of doctors in the morgue with assistants and volunteers performed autopsies. They worked with the university most care and precision. The way that everybody worked together was amazing. Reporter she says the cause of death for most was smoke inhalation. And most were identified through fingerprints. I was heart broken every time they would read off a name and i would say my gosh, i spoke were that family. And my heart broke. Reporter she says many victims had ids on them and family members provided information that helped to identify the victim, such as tattoos and piercings. We didnt want anybody to have to worry longer than they should have. Reporter normally the Coroners Bureau does four to six autopsies a day. On the monday following the fire, the staff did 20 autopsies. The age of the victims, roughly her own age, hit close to home. I just think it was unfair, the way that it happened. sorry. You know, theyre all so young and had family members and friends who loved them. Reporter amber lee, ktvu fox 2 news. Yesterday, the San Francisco board of supervisors issued accommodations to five members of the Fire Department for helping save the life of a 13 yearold boy. That teenager suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed at a bus stop on north beach december 1st. First responders arrived to start life saving treatment but their care and concern did not end there. We have members who on their days off drove from San Francisco to stanford hospital to visit with the child and the family over the last couple of days to make sure that everything was going correctly, everything was going smoothly and offer all of the support that our department and community can for them. Again, that accommodation was issued to five men and women firefighter and paramedics. The Fire Department says the boy is back at home and recovering. Good work. Joy saying sitting in my truck in daly city and felt it sway a little bit. There isnt any wind over here. It had to be this earthquake. Also maddie saying South Santa Rosa didnt feel a thing. Neither did my cats or dogs. That is weird. That is weird. I did get a tweet from someone in santa rosa saying it was shaking the house. I didnt feel it. Just the ornaments on the tree swayed. I thought my eyes were deceiving me. All right. Moving on to something that we have been covering for weeks, months now. Ronnie lott is use touchdown winning now he is throwing a hail mary to try to keep the raiders in oakland. The sity and county has approved lotts plan for a new stadium. We know that mark davis has been eyeing a move to vegas where a stadium has already been approved. But ronnie lotts Investment Team is putting forth a major effort to keep the team here in oakland. Last night was a big win for them. All in favor. Aye. Any opposed. [cheering and applause] cheers from the crowd last night inside Oakland City Hall as the council late last night after 10 00 they voted in favor of this proposal to work with lotts Fortress Investment group to build a new raiders stadium. Also on hand, other investors and former players. Former raiders. Marcus allen and rodney pete. A lot of fans of the silver and black in attendance as well. The council vote allows the city to continue negotiating with lotts Investment Firm on a 1. 3 billion stadium complex at the current coliseum site. Earlier in the day, the board of supervisors green lighted the proposal with a 31 vote. It would supply the land at 200 million in infrastructure bonds. It is not just about us. It is about everybody doing something bigger than themselves. We are in this for the long haul. It is about the community, it is about the people. It is about the jobs. The city has pledged 200 million. 100million coming from new stadium revenue thats would be structured as part of the deal. And the other 100 million will would be coming from a financing district which the city is allowed to do via state law which would, again, they would focus revenues that are from the site and from the redevelopment of the site to pay for infrastructure improvements. But of course it seems as though mark davis preference is to move the team to las vegas. As of right now. Nevada has approved funding for this 1. 9 billion stadium. But such a move needs League Approval of course. And the nfl owners will be voting on whether to allow this relocation bid at their meeting next month. They also happen to be meeting today in dallas. Of course the raiders will be one of the topics on the agenda as well. Ronnie lott and his group are trying to convince the league there is a viable stadium option here in oakland for the raiders. There is a lot of work yet to be done. They want to convince a quarter well, they want to convince nine of the 32 nfl owners. Thats what they need to do, convince them to not approve relocation to vegas. And then effectively they would have a win for the city of oakland. Im sure that a lot of City Residents in oakland and the county want more clarification in the chipping in of the 100 million to this investment group. Chipping in. What does that mean . Were going to lease it or sell it . Are we going to make money. That is actually that is being sorted out. This is a you could say a fairly broad proposal. Some of the details whether the land is going to be leased for this new stadium or whether it will be sold for the new stadium. That is not set in stone. No. How much do you think this is about mark davis thinking he would have it a lot easier in las vegas. Getting anything done here in the bay area is harder. It is harder to build anything in San Francisco. Yeah. Sure. Look how easily they paved the way for the stadium in nevada. They rolled out the red carpet in nevada. They pushed that deal through very quickly for that huge stadium in las vegas. Certainly mark davis is saying thats an easy path right there. Good news from the Oakland Police department. The departments tenth annual motor santa operation is shifting into high gear. This video was taken this morning. Traffic officer dressed up as santa passing out toys all along the way. The ride began about three hours ago at the police station. More than 300 toys will be given out before this operation motor santa is through. The audience at San Franciscos opera house experienced the annual premiere the american premiere, i should say, of the nutcracker. Today that tradition continues as every year dancers bring the story to life on stage. Claudine wong takes us behind the scenes of the San Francisco ballet on what makes this show so special. Reporter it all began more than 70 years ago at the San Francisco war memorial opera house. Director christian son was quoted as saying, i never intend touchdown to become an annual production but there you are. It is a tradition now. It makes it one of the most magical stories in the ballet world. Reporter the core of the story has endured through the years. Every company tries to tell the story and add a little twist to it. Reporter yet other things have changed. 1944, that was war time. The costume budget was 1,000. And some of the 143 costumes had to be made from old stage curtains. Today, the production boosts 300 costumes. I keep them stacked up like this so i can come in here and check them over. Reporter and then there are the sets. The tree can be as tall as 30 feet. The biggest present, eight feet tall. The giant fireplace is 22 feet tall. About the size of two stacked table cars. And the garland stretches the length of a football field. I think my favorite part is the actual snow scene. Thats when the stage truly gets transformed. Reporter and then there is the dancing. Dancing is so joyful. This is really a time for me to always sort of say thank you so the people who created the story of White Christmas. Of course my mom worked with and i know his daughters. Your mom judy garland. You worked in film as well. Did you enjoy film or do you feel like the stage was the one that really called your name. Oh, i dont care. You dont care. Honestly. Youre working. Yeah. Youre working. Today as an actor, you take what is offered to you. And if its wonderful and it is great, youre lucky you knock on everything. You really, really do. If youre lucky enough to do a show like White Christmas or lucky enough to do a film, that is important. Seeing the people i dont know if you can see them from the stage but hearing at plays, that has to be special to do that. The audiences that come to see the show are extraordinary. They stand up at the end and they have such a good time because this is a feelgood show. And at this time of year, sometimes that is basically what we need. We need to walk out of a theater saying i had a great time. On top of which i just it brings the holidays into your home in a way. You have seen the movie. Now you have seen the stage show. The stage show is different. We have more songs. We have the huge tap number thats are extraordinary. And we have dance number thats are just i mean, theyre beautiful. And we all stay in the wings and watch the dancers. I am so lucky to be in this show. One of my favorite numbers i hope you kept in the stage show is the sister, sister. Yes. Oh, yes. I saw tape of you talking with your sister liza minnelli. It gave me joy that you dont always get along. Sometimes you fight. I dont know where this comes from. You know, i honestly dont. My sister and i are sisters. And we we she was at a show in los angeles a couple weeks ago. I think the press likes to make up stories. No. No. I cant imagine. Dont talk crazy this early in the morning. She is the first person that you call when there is trouble. I would like somebody to call in and tell me that they have never had a problem in their family. Crickets. When you grow up in a show business family, youre going to have some ups and downs in your life. And if it gets into the media, theyre going to take it sometimes and take it a little further. Then you have to start to say, wait a second. And we laugh at it. We call each other and say do you know were not talking. And we would laugh and but its just its thats the nature of the beast. I think mike and i are going for the same question. Are you going to do the San Francisco state thing. My son went to sfs. I have to tell you, i have donated a lot to the economy. Of San Francisco. When my son was at school here. With parking tickets. I must say i really gave i gave the economy of San Francisco a big boost. And but it is a fantastic school. And im a very, very, very proud sfs mom. I wanted to ask you something. I havent confirmed it. I have heard about this. I couldnt find video. Regarding i couldnt mom and the song over the rain bolt you had never performed over the rainbow in your entire lifetime until recently. Yes. One, why did you never perform it . And number two, why did you perform it. I never thought that you any of us could improve on perfection. And i didnt feel that i never felt that i could do it justice in a sort of strange way. It was a song that i left alone. And then orlando happened, the tragedy at orlando. And i was bringing in gay pride in new york city. And i couldnt find another song that brought the feeling of hope to so many of us that were so stunned and so hurt. And so desperately sad for the lgbt community. And i said to my husband, i think this is the perfect time if im ever going to sing it is to sing it now. And i did. And i sang it once. I dont know if ill ever sing it again. But that is why i sang it. Because its the song is always, always about hope. E. And i think that that is such an Important Message in times of tragedy. Uhhuh. Because we lose sight sometimes of saying, i i dont feel that theres that in the world. And if you become hopeless, then its very, very sad. So i think thats why i sang it.
