Everything has moved off to the east in lasalle. Not much left out of this. Our observer clouse in antioch, good morning. Overcast, no wind, 48. 9 degrees. Yesterdays rain,. 46. Michael coin up in the santa cruz mountains, damp, for mile perhour breeze, 24 hour rain,. 62. Looks like along the coast, santa cruz was the brunt of that. 30s, 40s on the temps, cold out there. 30s windsor, sevastopol, petaluma and mill valley at 39 degrees. The cold air is in place, a cool day, breeze will pick up, patchy fog as well, but i dont think that will last too long because theres too much dry air coming in. 50s, 60s, now here he is, mr. Sal castaneda. Did you call my name about a minute to go . I did because i miss pronounced pam and day. Got it. You were not in your chair. [laughter] im sitting here typing, and i hear sal okay. All right. [laughter] good morning, steve. We are looking at a commute thats very busy now as you drive around the bay area. You will see the traffic is backed up at the macarthur maze trying to get to the bay bridge toll plaza. That is a big back up right now backed up for 2530 minute delay. Also looking at the san mateo bridge in case you want to go there, that trap doesnt look too bad heading out to the high rise over to the 101. Driving to your job in the valley, Silicon Valley looks okay on the 101. This is highway 4. Most of antioch is okay but most of pittsburg is not. Slow traffic there coming up and over the hill. We had an accident eastbound west of willow pass and conquered. Westbound was clear but apparently, that was causing some rubberneck or delay or just the normal morning commute there too. 6 02, lets go back to the desk. A crazy story we are following this morning, a woman being treated for serious injuries after a bizarre crash in san leandro last night. Police say an out of control car plowed into the bedroom of her home, and landed on her while she was sleeping. Alex savidge there outside the home to explain how this all happened. Alex . Reporter pam, good morning. A bit of good news here, authorities tell me the woman who was injured in this crash was alert and talking on her way to the hospital last night. Still, she has very serious injuries. One witness says the suv that hit this woman may have been going close to 100 Miles Per Hour when the driver lost control, jumped up onto the curb here and then slammed into this house you see on the corner. You can see it is surrounded by crime scene tape this morning. That car landed right on top of a 25yearold woman who was sleeping in the garage of this home, which has been converted into a bedroom. When firefighters got here, they had to take quite a bit of time to get this woman out from underneath that suv. This crash happened just after 10 00 last night at the intersection of farnsworth street and purdue street. Here in san leandro. The driver of that suv was also hurt in this crash. We dont know the extent of his injuries. We did talk with a woman who witnessed everything last night. She didnt want us to show her face, but she described how this speeding suv barreled right through the intersection before it went into the house. He went straight through the stop sign. After he clipped this girl, i guess he realized he was on the wrong side of the street, we heard the brakes and then he went straight through the house. Reporter authorities also say this morning there were three dogs injured somehow in this crash and taken to a nearby vet hospital. Police say its too early to know if the driver involved here may have been under the influence or what factors may have caused the suv to leave the road. Authorities also say because of the impact of this crash there is some significant structural damage to the house itself. Its not a safe place for anyone to be at this point. Thats why the red cross has come in and are helping a total of six people, pam, who were living in this house was another place to stay for the foreseeable future. Oh, gosh. Thank you, alex. It is now 6 04. Two young sisters from san jose have been reported as in danger and missing. The c. H. P. Sent out an alert early this morning saying 7yearold Kayleigh Morris and 10yearold alyssa lucchesi, take a look at their pictures, they were reported missing saturday afternoon. Believed to be with their mother also shown there. 32yearold crystle lucchesi, Authorities Say relatives were given emergency guardianship of the children, but that their mother has not turned them over and that the girls were not in school yesterday. They are believed to be traveling in a gold 2005 Nissan Altima with california license plate of 5ywe661 5ywe661. Also missing, a statewide silver alert has been issued for a couple from rohnert park. Take a look at their photo. Sam walko and his 90yearold wife maria were last seen saturday morning. He was driving her to the hospital but they have not been heard from since. Their son who lives in europe is worried they may be disoriented because of medical conditions. Their car is described as a faded green 2001 toyota camry, license plate, 4nhv446. The time is 6 06. Tonight theres another republican president ial debate. Donald trump still leading the other candidates in most recent polls, but just barely. Doug luzader joining us live in milwaukee, wisconsin. Tell us what we can expect. Reporter dave, good morning. You can expect first of all a stage that looks similar to previous debates. Donald trump and ben carson are going to be right in stage center. From there things change a bit. It is down to the final touches now for tonights debate on the fox business network. The jumble of candidates names has been sorted out. It will be just them facing the glare of the spotlight here. Especially for this debate, the moderators are prepared to take some heat themselves. I think the closer we get to the iowa caucuses, sometimes some of the candidates, the more desperate they get you could have if Mother Teresa were asking questions, she be ripped. Reporter there are still lingering concerns about the Overall Health of the economy. Beyond questions of whether donald trump will be on the attack tonight or whether ben carson can withstand scrutiny over his personal biography, there was also the debate itself. Extra attention because of the last gop debate on cnbc last month which was also supposed to focus on the economy but quickly devolved into what one candidate described as a cage match. How about talking about the substantive issues you care about . Reporter as far as the lineup, they are going through rehearsals here, eight podiums on that mainstage. Down from 1011 podiums in earlier debates which means two candidates, Mike Huckabee and chris christie, have been demoted to the undercard debate. It is severely disappointing for them and especially for christie. He seemed to be Building Momentum particularly in New Hampshire. We spent 46 days in New Hampshire which is more than any other candidate by far. Reporter New Hampshire plays a Critical Role in the primary process but republicans hope that this state is in play for the general election. Wisconsin but that may be quite a stretch. The last time wisconsin voted for a republican president was Ronald Reagan back in 1984. Quickly before you go, is there a lot of buzz out there about tonights debate . Or is it kind of hohum . What would you say . Reporter this a lot of buzz out here for this. It has milwaukee pretty excited, the fact that have all these candidates here tonight. Lingering question is, who is going to drop out when . When is this heard going to thin . Will tonight be a deciding factor . Doug luzader, thank you. Tonights main debate will start at 6 00 p. M. You can watch it on the fox business network, or if you dont have a cables prescription, you can stream the debate for free on foxbusiness. Com. We will of course have continuing coverage of the debate throughout the morning for you. Ktvus ross palombo is in milwaukee. He will have live reports at 4 00 p. M. , 5 00 p. M. And 10 00 tonight. Well also hear from ross tomorrow morning right here on mornings on 2. 6 09 is the time. Hostage situation ended with a man and woman dead and a Police Officer hurt. Very convoluted story coming up. The questions investigators are trying to answer and what neighbors have told us this morning. Time now is 6 12. In 207 cities throughout our country, fast food workers are demanding 15 and a union. Nobody working fulltime should be living in poverty. In San Francisco, [yelling] 43 stores in the east bay, workers are going to be walking out of their stores demanding 15 and a union. And what we know is that in one year, today is election day. For the president of the United States and statewide and local officials we are going to be continuing to strike and continuing to pressure for 15 an hour now until election day 2016. Reporter there are several cities in the south bay that already are going to be installing 15 an hour in the next few years. Thats why were here, to help you out. On a day like yesterday, were working harder than on a normal day. Today is still slow out there, lets take a look at a comet on the san mateo bridge approach. Southbound 882 westbound 92, the ramp there is blocked by an injury crash. The ramp from this to this if you are watching on tv, is going to be blocked there. Looks like they may get it out of the way rather quickly. If you are taking the san mateo bridge anytime soon, getting there may be an issue. I want to talk about the traffic on highway 37 getting over to marin county out of sonoma and solano county. Also southbound 101, pretty stark backup on 101 through all of petaluma heading down toward no bottle.
