Not as much for sun, but the low clouds have tapered off some of that because it will start to pick up and temperatures on the temperatures and lower 60s in the southern end of peninsula, and san jose area, and the system continues to carve itself out here and it looks like it is going to be a dominant feature throughout much of the week. Low clouds and fog are. There and peel back more of a northwest breeze. And for some, it will be all right. Mainly 70s now for some inland areas. Or very low 80s. And 50s and 60s by the coast. Pam and brian, more news. Thank you, steve. Topping the news this morning, San Jose Police are investigating the death of an 18yearold man in an officer involved shooting. It happened late yesterday afternoon, on seller avenue in the citys east foothills. A Police Source tells us at ktvu news, that officers were asked to check on the welfare of a possibly suicidal man with a gun. Police say he had already shot himself when they arrived on the scene. Officers say they were forced to open fire, though, when he then pointed the gun at them. The young man died a short time later. I knew something was bad because i had never seen this many police cars here before. I pride ourselves in the san jose area nice quiet neighborhood but a situation like this very much unfortunate for us. Family members have identified the man killed as 18 yearold anthony nunez, provided us with this picture of him. They believe he was suffering from severe depression. This was the fourth officer involved shooting in san jose this year. And the second fatal incident. Time now is 4 03. And the bay area marked independence day, with some very colorful fireworks displays. San franciscos fireworks drew thousands of people to the water front. There is always a concern that fog could obscure the show. And ktvu amber lee was at aquatic park for the patriotic celebration. It has special meaning. This u. S. Army veteran says on this day, he is remembering all of his brothers and sisters in the military. This is what were protecting. Our freedom. To have everybody out here doing what they are do now. It is special. Other sass i this day is a time for reflection. Recent terrorist attacks in orlando, and other parts of the world, are on many minds. It means celebrating our american history. And all of the conflicts over the years. And good times, and there has been some this past year some really hard times. We have to push through it. Following developing news this morning, a passenger jet from new york safely landed in israel, after a bomb threat. The Airline El Al says it received an anonymous tip during the trip to tel aviv. Both france and switzerland had military planes escort the plane through the air space before continuing to israel. No bomb was found on the plane. This comes amid heightened security at airports following the deadly attack on istanbuls International Airport last week. Well, the u. S. State department has issued a warning to americans living in saudi arabia. This follows three separate and apparently coordinated suicide bombing attacks across the country yesterday. The deadliest bombing was outside one of islams holiest sites in medina. Four Saudi Security officers were killed and five people were wounded. Only the bombers died in suicide attacks outside a shiite mosque in eastern saudi arabia. And near the u. S. Consulate. The latest attacks of terrorism overseas have angered many muslims here in the bay area. They are not muslim because in the koran, if you kill one person, it is as if you kill all mankind and if you save one person, it is like you save all mankind. Saudi intelligence agencies believe isis may be responsible for the three suicide bombings. The bodies of seven japanese citizens killed in last weeks terrorism attack in bangladesh were flown home early today. The five member and two women were among 20 hostages who died in a weekend siege of the restaurant that was popular with tourists. They went to bangladesh to work on a Government Development project. A vigil is set for today to honor the memory of a uc Berkeley Student also killed in that attack in bangladesh. The public memorial for 19year old teresa jen is scheduled for noon ott the cal campus. The College Intern was in the restaurant when the gownmen stormed the building in dhaka. She hid in the bathroom and made a frantic call to Family Moments before she was killed. Both president ial candidates are focusing on the Battle Ground state of North Carolina today. President obama is set to hit the campaign trail with Hillary Clinton. And there are reports the same image was seen earlier on a racist internet site. And after a public outcry, Trumps Campaign replaced the star with a circle. But denied that the image was antisemitic. A new National Poll shows clintons lead over donald trump is narrowing. The usa today poll shows that the former secretary of state with 45 support, to Donald Trumps 40 . Two months ago, the same poll showed clint within a double digit lead over clint within a double digit lead over trump. 4 17. Unfortunately we are starting off with a fatal accident on state route 4 this morning. Sal has the details on that. This crash is blocking three lane, eastbound highway 4, east of hill crest. And the traffic is not affected, really, because it is so early, and it is so light. I dont see any slowdowns, here it is only 4 18 in the morning. The freeway is down to one lane. And people are slog down but there are not slowing down but there are not a lot of cars out there right now. Westbound highway 4 is also the one to slow down because of all of the lights and emergency equipment out there. Still doing their investigation. This accident happened just before 3 00 a. M. And right now, it is still there. They are still trying to clean it up. Westbound highway 4, again, not affected. We will keep an eye on it for you and let you know more about that. I do want to mention the tracy super commute. And westbound 580 is not too bad over the altamont pass. And right here, as you drive through, there are no major problems. And coming through the area. So watch for the traffic to be okay, if youre driving through. But again, we have to go back to the highway 4 crash. We will let you know more about that coming up. All right, lets go to some live pictures. And this is a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. It is not too bad here. Although i do see an Emergency Vehicle coming in. You can see that ramp, we talk about the 880 ramp here, and it sounds like there is a crash reported on westbound bay bridge, westbound near treasure island. Just now reported. So the Fire Department is on the way. To the bridge. To figure out what looks like it is an emergency response. So there goes oakland fire, up on to the bridge. And we will let you know more, this crash reported on the bridge, in one of the lane, and we are going to turn the camera around, and look at it, in just a moment. Lets move along and take a look at one last thing, san mateo bridge looks pretty good. Next traffic report, more on the bay bridge crash that was just reported. Lets go to steve. All right, sal, thank you, sir. A rather robust delta breeze. And also a big old fog bank, manking a push inland. Although there is a little hint that we could see a little more clearing today as it comes from the northwest. Still though, this doesnt show all of the low clouds and fog. It is there, it is making a pretty good surge inland. In fact a strong push inland. So that along with the water temperatures, they have gone up a little bit. We lost that northwest breeze, but i think it will come back here, as the next system digs in, and the week kind of looks like one where it should be interesting toward the end of the week. More on that in a second. 32, gusts to 37. Just roaring out to coredeala and fairfield, and a very strong breeze. And 50s on the temperature, and low 60s. And i think some of these are stuck here just by the fear fact that the low clouds are there. 52 pet. And 50s for everybody just about. 54 at monterey. When the water temperatures come up, the lows on the coast come up. But the systems will carve themselves out, out of the west and a strong one moves in by the end of the week and there are some hints and some rain for Northern California by the weekend. And we will is see if that makes it probably a cooler windy pattern, and what it will end up being but it does, in two of the forecast models, are trending in that distribution. And 50s, 60s, 70s, upper 70s, low 80s, and except the clear lakes of the area, and brackville, everybody else has cooled off. We will continue that for a while. I dont know what that is, on that, it is going to be 7,668 degrees around the bay though. [ laughter ] but it will drop the next day. So dont worry about it. [ applause ] a good 7600 degrees . Stay inside, if youre around the bay, because the next day will be fine. You couldnt decide on the temperature, i dont know. Four different options. A bit hot. Inland will be all right. We can hear people yelling because of a fourth of July Celebration in plymouth, massachusetts. It did not go as planned. It is a lower part of your screen there. But the barge being used for that Fireworks Show exploded. And caught fire. So the fireworks were very low. Witnesses say it happened about 15 minutes into the show. And fortunately, no one was hurt. Two people in los angeles were killed in a crash that left an rv teetering on the edge of an overpass. It happened just after 3 30 yesterday afternoon, in kanoga park. Take a look at the video. Police say the driver lost control and sheared a fire hydrant and slammed into a fence on the overpass. Both people inside the rv died at the scene. The crash caused an electrical hazard and a diesel fuel spill. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. A severe storm damaged a walmart in kentucky. This was the scene in lawrence county, yesterday. It caused extensive damage to the store, both inside and out. At least one car was flipped in the parking lot. Kentucky firefighters say there were downed trees and roofs were ripped off of several apartments in the area as well. Overall, no injuries were reported. Well, new this morning, there is a new agreement that cracks down on americans living on u. S. Military bases in japan. The new treaty signed just hours ago, makes it tougher for u. S. Civilians working at those bases, to get immunity when they break japanese laws. The two countries also agreed to improve both education and monitoring of u. S. Troops and contractors working for the government. The new deal is in reaction to the recent arrest of a u. S. Military contractor for murder and rape in okinawa. The u. S. Ambassador says america wants to maintain strong and friendly ties with japan and the japanese people. We constantly work to improve our ability to protect and defend our treaty obligations. And we strive to be working on trust and friendsship with the communities around our bases and the entire japanese nation. The new treaty will also limit the jurisdiction the japanese have in criminal cases against u. S. Military personnel. It is 4 27.
