The man who reportedly shot a deputy in the face is now behind bars. He was arrested in sacramento after a manhunt. Shooting happened around 6 p. M. Last night at the Regional Transit station. Police say it all unfolded when the deputy approached the suspect at the light rail station. At some point the officer was shot. The suspect ran to a nearby hotel. A bunch of officers were helping walk him out and there was an ambulance and they were all escorting him into the ambulance with a bunch of guns, with s. W. A. T. Team and everything. Several hours later a robot spotted the suspect hiding in a crawl space and police took him into custody. The officer is in the hospital and is in stable condition. Nine people are recovering after a headon crash involving a San Francisco muni bus. That crash happened last night at castro and beaver streets. The bus and delivery truck collided smashing out the front windshield of the bus. Witnesses telling us that the bus driver honked at the truck before the crash. We had video on the bus and well look at that before we finalize any investigation with the police department. Both drivers and seven bus passengers were taken to the hospital. All of them are expected to be okay. A new ultimatum for an east bay woman who has been breeding hundreds of exotic birds in her backyard. Reporter 500 exotic birds from parrots to mccaws being bred in this backyard in Castro Valley and sold for thousands on craigslist. The bird farm has ruffled feathers in the neighborhood. People who live here are fed up with the sound, smell and the flies. Just a real nuisance. Reporter the woman who owns the home and the birds looked on as a team of code enforcements officials and animal control officers cited her for a string of code violations. Theres limitations of number of birds you can have. Reporter in this rural area that limit is 50. When authorities entered the home today, pham had around 250. Half of what she had a couple of weeks ago. We have given her 30 days to further reduce that population to 50. Reporter when we spoke to her at her job a week and a half ago she was defiant. I proved to you that after next week i still have birds. Reporter Authorities Say since then she agreed to cooperate by either selling the birds or turning them over to a rescue organization.
