And shifting our focus south ward, you can see we do have wet weather spreading across the peninsula this, is light at the moment but expected to intensify later. Police talked with a man who saw a missing woman lying in a stairwell in San Francisco general hospital. And he was spotted two weeks after she went missing and reported it. But no one followed up. Abc7 news learned the Witness Police are looking for is a doctor. A nurse heard a man knocking on the door of an emergency stairwell on the 5th floor of a building. He was trying to get out on to the hospital floor. And she let him in. And he said wrong stairwell. Thank you for letting me in. And then said looks like there is someone further down maybe asleep or not sure. But looks like there is someone down there. The man then left quickly. The person he referred to presumably Lynn Spalding was laying on the stairs the nursing supervisor notify aid sheriffs dispatcher. He said he would check it out the sheriff said his deputies never check that had stairwell. Spaldings body found four days later in that location. Investigators began looking for him, hoping he can provide answers. Abc news learned the mystery man is a visiting doctor from india now working at ucsf in San Francisco general. Here we are, 19th of november, now, someone comes forward, a doctor says i was the one that saw her and did nothing more than say so to someone that let him in out of a locked door . I cant fathom the thinking. Reporter San Francisco general issued a statement after we aired our story confirming that the person is a researcher working at the hospital. Our sources say he apparently saw a flyer sent out by police and realized he must be the one investigators were looking for. That is why he came forward. At least they found him, vic, thank you. Were learning more information about what may have provoked a man to kick a homeless woman sleeping on the street in San Francisco this, is video of the attack. You can see the man stomp his foot on the womans head. This afternoon prosecutors charged the 28yearold timothy chase with two counts of felony assault. He told investigators he kicked the woman because he was annoyed by the smell in the area the victim is having trouble remembering what happened. We have a video that showed her but she cant remember some of the things. Its possible she was hurt and having memory problems and prosecutors say he thought he killed the woman with the kicks. The judge issued a protective order to keep the man from approaching the victim. A body discovered last week has been identified as that of a missing College Student the 20yearold last seen november 7th. He went to catch a bus to go to school. His body discovered in the water friday morning. The coroner is now working to determine how he died. 25 years ago today a man abducted 9yearold Michaela Garecht in hayward today her mother joined family sdprindz to remember her, tieing yellow ribbons around a tree outside of a market where she was kidnapped. Her mother says it was a rough 12 months. Last winter they tested bones to see if the dna matched michaelas. Its hard to describe the devastating impact that whole episode had on us. To spend several months you know, contemplating whether or not were going to find out she was no longer arrive. And who that would mean z you know, what that could feel like. Authorities determined the bones belonged to a victim two of serial killers. Michaelas mother remains hopeful. A judge said no to university of california attempt to block a one day strike. Officers will vote on tuesday, if ratified then city council will vote the process will take about two weeks the Police Union President says this will bring pay back to 2009 levels.
