Reporter were able to stand right here on the highway 880 because it is all shut down southbound lanes. You can take a look. Behind me, the car, one of the cars involved in this shooting is still on the highway. And the chp officer tell me it takes until about 8 00 to collect evidence and take the car off the highway. Look at rid owe of sky ranger and you can see how backed up the traffic is. Its backed up for a mile and only going to get worse for the morning commute. Again, we are hearing it takes it until about 8 00 for this to happen and then well take a look at some video from earlier this morning where they were collecting evidence here. On highway 880. They were marking the bullet casings and all happened around 2 30 this morning. Chp officers say the driver of the car still on the highway right now shot at by a passenger in another car. The chp Investigative Unit on the way an bringing in more equipment and backs off the scene to make room for the equipment and searching for the suspect. We have one confirmed injury. It was the driver and at this point he is in critical condition. He was shot in the head. Reporter and you can see how traffic is backed up here at lewalling boulevard in san lorenzo. The suspect vehicle description, they dont have much go on, a white vehicle, possibly with four people inside. More breaking news this morning, this time in the south bay. Were learning within the past hour at least six people are injured in connection to a shooting in the East San Jose. It is all happening on Vista Glen Court late last night. Today in the bay kris sanchez live at the Police Department with what we know this morning. Kris . Reporter good morning to you. Thats a large number of injury an area thats pretty densely populated in East San Jose and the neighbors there say theyre afraid that theyre going to get caught in the cross fire of the situation. Now, this is the scene from around 10 30 last night when the shooting was first reported. It is a culdesac with a dozen homes in a neighborhood of Hill View Park and capital expressway in East San Jose. Neighbor told us that hes seen a lot ofs coming and going in the last week from the very home across the street where they heard the gun fire last night and his 8yearold sister was ducking for cover behind the couch. We heard gunshots when we were watching tv and then we thought they were fireworks at first and so we went to my moms room and we looked outside and we heard people screaming. And we saw that the neighbors across the street got panicky so we came outside. Reporter now we counted four people loaded into ambulances at the scene at that point. But san jose fire confirms for us this morning as you mentioned that, in fact, six people were injured badly enough to go to the hospital. San jose police are not revealing what they know about the suspects, nor the motive at this point, but it is possible that from what we gathered from the scene they could be looking for as many as six suspects so you might be wondering, is there a public risk . From 98 at the coliseum all the way down to just shy of the 348 merge. 580 eastbound allowed for big rigs and an alternate for folks nicely out of the same area. Chp officers say the driver of the car still in the highway shot at by a passenger in another car and Investigative Unit collecting evidence and the suspects are still on the loose. At this point, we only have very minimal information. We are looking for a white passenger, suspect vehicle. We havent confirmed the make or model at this point. We have been told theres four occupants in that. One of them was the shooter. And we have been told that that was a passenger. They were heard chanting take down the monument. Crowds blocked streets and stopped traffic. Also, later today, james alex fields of ohio is expected to be formally charged with seconddegree murder. He is the man accused of driving a car into a crud of people in charlottesville over the weekend where one person died. More than a dozen others were hurt. There is a bay area connection to this. A bay area man without a job, without a job this morning after pictures showed him at the rally and they surfaced on the internet. Would have been the day after he took part or allegedly took part in that march where they were in that march in charlottesville that took place and that image of him at the White Nationalists in charlottesville went viral and we made the decision to blur out the face waiting to independently confirm if the man in the picture is cole white seen here White Nationalist march in friday to see if its the man that worked here at top dog. The business was slammed with posts to fire white after the picture went viral of a picture appearing to resemble him. This morning, learning that white goes by the nickname of base ric flair and took part in the melee in berkeley in april. Police have not confirmed if he was arrested or participated in this incident. Heres what top dog customers say following the firing. New this morning, more than a decade after San Francisco police investigated a crime, police are reaching out to the public in hopes of solving a cold case. Police say 11 years ago today this young man was shot multiple times and killed at grove and bakers street. Aubry was only 17 years old. The case never solved. And now the city is giving a 250,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. The man and woman missing more than a week. The National Park service say it is two chinese nationals were last seen sunday. The duo had attended a crystal cave tour in the southern Sierra Nevada before they vanished. They had a reservation in Yosemite Park the next day but they never showed up. A fire continues to burn inside yosemite National Park. We just found out a few hours ago it burned 400 acres. Inside the park. So far, no evacuations have been ordered. Park rangers do say they have alerted all local businesses. That blaze started around 2 00 sunday afternoon. No word yet on a possible cause. Firefighters have the wildfire in napa county on the last leg. Cal fire says the canyon is 95 contained. A little more than 160 firefighters were down there at the scene. Thats down from 300 before. One firefighter was injured but is expected to be.
