The construction crane melted at the top and there is concern at this 7 00 hour it could become more compromised and collapse on to nearby buildings. Fire crews are working to stop the building itself from collapsing. That what you just saw was the flames from about an hour ago. This is what it looks like now. You can see the flames not as present, more smoke going into the air. So they do have that fire a bit more under control than it was two hours ago. But again, buildings nearby have been evacuated because there is concern that construction crane could become more compromised, collapse on to nearby buildings. There are no injuries reported at this time. But again people have been evacuated in that area. And we will bring you the very latest on this story on all of our social platforms throughout the morning and throughout the day today. In other news, a child is in the hospital this morning ever a fire in the east bay. Firefighters got the call around 2 00 this morning at a home on lockwood street near 73rd avenue, this also in oakland. When crews responded, they rescued an unresponsive child who was tropped inside the home. They were able to put out the flames and revive that child who is in serious condition in the hospital. An arsonist is setting cars on fire night after night in driveways of quiet communities. The question this morning is when will it stop. A total of seven cars have been targeted so far. This is in walnut creek, lafayette, martinez and brentwood. The latest two cars were found burning in the streets of lafayette and walnut creek between 2 00 and 3 00 a. M. Yesterday. Contra costa countys fire marshal says the latest run of car fires could be related to the dozens of car fires in the area late last year. There are a number of things that theyre doing and that connect them, for a lack of a better word, are a signature. They definitely are linked. She walked out of the hospital after giving birth and vanished. Now 4 1 2 years later Authorities Say they found the santa cruz womans body. And now they need your help figuring out what happened. 29yearold jenny herum graduated from Santa Cruz High School and was attended Cabrillo College at the time of her disappearance. Early last year a couple hiking found skeletal remains that match herums dna. And authorities are now hoping someone who saw her alive will come forward. Investigators are not saying where or how she died until someone comes forward. Herums son is now 4. Hes being raised by his father who investigators say has been cooperative. If we fast forward and look ahead to 12 00, thats when well see the winds dying down a bit. 11 Miles Per Hour, also in the south bay about 1 1. So not really a factor. But if we fast forward through tonight right around dinnertime, the wind gusts do pick up around 4 00, 5 00. It picks up in San Francisco about 20 Miles Per Hour. Half moon bay also at about 26 Miles Per Hour. Even down here in the south bay at about 17, fast forward into the overnight hours. She can take him to Small Claims Court but cant ask the state to step in because home inspectors arent licensed in california. Which the only unregulated part of the home buying experience. Reporter new legislation to license home inspectors just like most others who help you buy a house. County Officials Say they made the arrest just after midnight at a venetia mcdonalds. A Task Force Member saw the suspect starting another car fire at a home down the street from the mcdonalds and the suspect then drove to the restaurant parking lot where he was promptly arrested by authorities.
