Individual states can now decide if students can use bathrooms based on gender identify . So the move spurred a response interest from the teen who sang the National Anthem at the inauguration Jackie Evancho whose sister is transgender says shes disappointed and shes not alone. They say theyre fighting back against a prophesy that tells of a black snake that will go underground and destroy the tribes way of life, that snake they say the oil pipeline. The original 1851 treaty, the sioux nation signed with the u. S. Government. Native american tribes have been negotiating with washington for centuries. But the close of the 19th century, the sioux had endured abusive assimilation, the outlawing of their religion, dependence on government rations and the massacre at wounded knee. And some of the protesters who had been camping there for several months, as you know, they set fire to their wooden shacks as they left. Ordered by the government to get out overnight. 25 to 50 remain inside the camp overnight. The army corps of engineers called for evacuation because of the threat of spring flooding. We feel for life and safety reasons that, this is not a place where people in a na has no sewer no water, in a flood zone. A 7yearold boy and 17yearold girl were burned by the fires and taken to a hospital. Officials say those still inside the camp will not be arrest fundamental they leave voluntarily overnight.
