Numbers in the low 50s and upper 60s right now throughout the noontime area. Well be in the 70s inland. We wont see much change in the inland bay, but on the coast a few high clouds to speak of. Chris . Two children are in Critical Condition this morning after a terrifying scene in the San Francisco bay. A yacht capsized with 30 people on board yesterday right after the blue angels finished their show. Abc 7 News Reporter has more on the investigation underway. Reporter this is gopro video taken just moments after the motorboat called calisi went over. Those on board the nearby fishing boat happy days went to help. It flipped all the way over and a lot of people were clinging to the hull, and the bow of the boat, went down. People were screaming. Reporter crew members threw life jackets to those in the water. There is a baby needing cpr reporter it turned out the child needing cpr was five years old and was trapped under the boat with his father. There was a rescue made by somebody on the boat that went down and helped get those people out. Reporter you can see another passenger also climbed on top of the boat to help with the child who was unconscious. There were a total of three kids on board. Watching them struggle really left an impact on this longtime sailor. This one is unique with so many kids on the boat. Thats what really got to me. Reporter there were 27 adults on board the calisi. They were cold, wet everybody okay . Reporter and for the most part unharmed. Five adul five children and two adults were taken to the hospital. Two of the children are in Critical Condition. This was the scene as members of the department escorted their caskets to a waiting hearse. The arrest was made just before 1 00 a. M. Following a 12hour standoff. The officers were shot while trying to assist with a family disturbance. Employees are broken. If theres ever a time to pray, its now. It was a simple family disturbance, and he elected to open fire on a field of guardians in this city. A third officer was shot and wounded but is expected to survive. Vega was to retire in december. One had just returned after the birth of a daughter. Take a look at what happened in the east bay. This suv crashed right into a house on oakland. Thats apparently the wall into a homes kitchen that you see right there. Police say the driver did stay at the scene and no one was seriously injured. Apparently this is the second time a car has crashed into that home in the past few months. The second president ial debate is set for tonight and the stakes are much higher than just a few days ago. C. , and to the south and west is where we have that fresh water flooding. Down to the south in sasavannah they picked up 17. 5 inches of rain. A Flood Warning continues for parts of raleigh, which is over two hours from the coast, and were looking at a wind advisory for charlotte. So this is creating a lot of havoc well inland. That storm surge this morning is five to six feet and still looking at a Tropical Storm warning for the winds right along the shoreline. An apparent accidental shooting has land aid pet led a child in the hospital. The child was rushed to Memorial Hospital and then flown to Childrens Hospital in oakland. Doctors say the child is expected to survive. As of right now, investigators say they have no plans to make any arrests. A car with two people inside plunged into the water off treasure island. Firefighters and the coast guard were called to the scene last night. Police say the driver was speeding when she lost control of her mercedes. The vehicle went into about four feet of water near third street and avenue n at around 9 00 p. M. The driver and her passenger managed to walk away and were taken to the hospital. Neither appeared to have serious injuries. Police say the driver will be charged with drunk driving. Fleet week continues today after a night of fireworks. By afternoon weve got high clouds, low clouds at the coast. Temperatures out the shoreline as much as 8 degrees cooler. A pleasant day in San Francisco turned into panic for some as a yacht with 30 people on board capsized leaving two children in Critical Condition. This is go pro video of the chaos moments after the yacht turned over. A fiveyearold boy was trapped under the yacht along with his dad. Those on board the nearby fishing boat happy day rushed to help. It was on its side and then it flipped all wait ovthe way o a lot of people were clinging to the hull. The stern of the boat, the back of it, went down. Three children were taken to the hospital. Firefighters are hopeful that theyll all recover. The incident is now being investigated by the u. S. Coast guard and the San Francisco police department. They want to know how the boat sunk so quickly with so many people on board. Abc 7 News Reporter sierra tano brings us the story. Reporter it was a 30foot motor vessel. Authorities are trying to figure out what went wrong. But darrell caras, the captain of the blue sky, one who went to help, is raising questions about the calisi. I saw a lot of what appeared to be kids to me. I dont know what their ages were. None of us saw anybody wearing a life jacket. Reporter one of the people aboard the blue star shot these pictures of the rescue effort. They dont know if anybody on board was wearing a life jacket. We havent determined at this time what was involved, who was wearing what. Thats still under investigation. Reporter this turned out to be a massive rescue effort with multiple boats responding in minutes. Of the 30 people who went into the water, three children were sent to General Hospital. One of them, a fiveyearold, was pulled from inside the cabin of the sinking boat and immediately given cpr by another passenger. He was taken to General Hospital in Critical Condition. Five adult passengers were rushed to area hospitals just as a precaution. Emergency crews are praising the efforts of rescue teams and witnesses who sprung into action. This could have been really, really catastrophic. We had 30 people in the water with one of the days with more boat traffic on the bay than any other day, just about, during the year. Reporter all 30 people who went into the water survived. Abc 7 news. New this morning, Santa Rosa Police need your help identifying the hit and run driver who left a woman with head trauma. Heres a description of the vehicle. A late 90s to early 2000s white sedan. Its similar to a Toyota Corrolla with four doors. The driver is described as a female adult in her 50s and 60s. The victim is in serious condition. In palm springs, one man is in custody accused of killing and shooting two police officers. They were killed while talking to a man involved in a family dispute. Authorities say the man was standing inside his front door when he opened fire. I have im awake in a nightmare right now. It took nearly 12 hours for officers to talk the suspect into surrendering. His name has not been released. As you can imagine, the city is engulfed in grief. Officers walked the caskets of their colleagues out to a hearse ahead of a trip to the coroners office. A candlelight vigil also took place on the same street where the shootings took place. Many people said they just needed to do something to show their sympathy with the department. Vega, 63, was a 35year veteran in the force planning to retire in december. The 24yearold zerebny had just returned to active duty after giving birth to a daughter. Hurricane matthew has been downgraded to a postTropical Storm. The storm has caused buildings to erupt into flames, as you just saw, and caused roads along the coast to collapse. A result of matthew. Damage could rise into the billions. The storm has also dumped a foot of rain in North Carolina. Matthew has also flooded homes and businesses as far as 100 miles inland. Turning now to your voice, your vote. Number 2 is set tonight in st. Louis and the person in the crosshairs is donald trump. Unearthed audio tapes shows him speaking crassly to women and several members of the Republican Party want him to drop out. Trump said hell never quit, and as for preparing for the debate, he said thats for the people who cant handle the exhaustive campaigning. Do you really think shes prepping for the debate . Shes resting. Hillary Clintons Campaign also faces questions following the release of hacked emails by wikileaks. Messages revealed some of what clinton said during private speeches given to wall street executives. Clinton shared how she favored open trade and open borders. Clinton opposed those policies. Clinton has collected more than 6 million in speaking fees and shes refused to release any transcripts of those speeches. Giuliani also said trump understands that Many Republican leaders will be watching the debate very closely to see if his candidacy deserves to go forward. Cell phone video from inside one of the trains cars shows passengers looking out trying to see what happened. The 12car train derailed shortly after 6 00 our time last night. We derailed, and one of the cars actually the door ripped off. Yeah, the door ripped off the train sideways. It took it off the rails. At least 29 people were hurt but none seriously.
