This is one of the Access Points for rescuers who are going to be going out on the bay when the sun comes up. I just checked my abc7 news app. It shows that its 37 degrees here in alviso. This is very, very cold here. It is very, very cold on the bay. Time is a major factor in this search. The coast guard does have one small boat out in the bay and they are hoping for more resources when the sun comes up. Now, take a look at the photo of the missing man. He is described as 32yearold san jose resident kenneth maldonado. Now this all happened around 4 30 yesterday afternoon when the menlo Fire Protection district got a call. Two people were in the water near the dumbarton railroad trestle. Menlo fire found one man on a raft last night. He said he looked back at maldonado, said he saw his vest and no sign of his friend. More than a dozen rescue boats and helicopters were sent out here. Drones were also used to search the shoreline and an interesting quote from the fire chief. Its a big, lonely bay out there when its dark. The survivability clock is ticking. We are throwing everything we can at this tragic incident and hoping for a positive outcome. This happened moments before police shot him in a scuffle in early january. Moore was hit in the stomach and the groin. The two officers suffered injuries. Moores family says he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. He faces several charges, including assault on a Police Officer. Prosecutors will not charge a san jose state water polo player accused of sexual assaulting two women. The women told police they were assault bid the male student in september. Prosecutors now say they did not charge him because of conflicting statements. Also a lack of corroborating evidence. The student could still face expulsion. The Redwood City Police department is going to hold a me hoirl service this week for one of its own. Officer silva died of Natural Causes while on duty last week. It has a lot of concrete in the creek and its low. So, it provides a pretty substantial obstacle to creek water. Neighbors agree the town cant keep enduring flood fears with every storm. An 8 million grant is going to help pay for future flood prevention measures. Antioch is seeing a drop in property crimes but Violent Crimes are on the rise. The number of aggravated assaults, burglaries, thefts, and auto thefts dropped from 2015 to last year. However, homicides, rapes, robberies, and arsons all went up.
