Reporter fridays rush hour commute came to i astandstill after chp responded to a call about a vehicle collision and a man with a gun on highway 101 in the peninsula. Based on the statements we have now we know that this suspect was trying to use his firearm as a tool to steal the vehicle. Reporter sky 7 captured the suspects gun lying on the side of the highway. Witnesses shared cell phone video with us. And this photo with officers raising their firearms toward the suspect. All three officers fired their weapons. Shots fired. Suspects down. Reporter police say witness accounts indicate those chp officers ordered the man to drop his gun. After many independent witness statements that officers took extreme measures to issue commands to drop that firearm, to attempt to deescalate and negotiate with that suspect. Reporter investigators havent said much about their confrontation or what prompted the suspect to point his gun at the officers. But once they shot him, officers say they tried to revive the suspect. The driver of the other vehicle was unharmed, as were the three chp officers. San mateo police are conducting an independent investigation as well as the d. A. s office and california highway patrol. We are doing everything we can to backtrack the suspects actions obviously of that day and days prior. Well tell you who the 49ers and raiders took. And mr. Irrelevant. The last player. The niners and raiders were busy today as they selected a total of 12 players on the final day of the nfl draft. With its fourthround pick San Francisco took utah running back joe williams, who got the news at his home in pennsylvania. During his two seasons with the utes williams ran for almost 2,000 yards and 13 touchdowns. He finished his College Career at levis stadium. Williams was the offensive mvp as utah got by indiana in the foster farms bowl. Iowa tight end George Kittle and Louisiana Tech receiver trent taylor were taken in the fifth round. In the sixth San Francisco took a pair of linemen, mississippis d. J. Jones and utahs pita taumoepenu. Miamis Adrian Colbert was taken in the seventh round. With the 129th pick in the 2017 draft the Oakland Raiders select david sharp. Thats Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval announcing the raiders fourthround pick from their future home in las vegas. Sharp is a 66 340pound offensive lineman from florida. In the fifth round the raiders took wake forest linebacker markell lee. They had four picks in the seventh round, washington safety luani.
