More than two dozen families are able to get back in their homes after explosive materials were found in the plum creek neighborhood after the arrest of two teenagers in downtown that neighborhood. Jamie, i understand the Evacuation Order is lifted at 5 00, so are people able to go home yet . Reporter people are able to go home. Those 30 families that were forced to evacuate yesterday, they were told at 5 00 a. M. They could start coming back to their homes. Its still quiet. I want to show you something behind me. This is the house where the devices and chemicals were found. You can see the hazmat bags in the driveway, barrels there as well. Fi the place. It was about 12 hours after those chemicals and devices were found that a bomb squad detonated them. Take a listen. [ sound of explosion ] reporter authorities describe what they found as volatile chemicals inside the home i just showed you. The bomb was detonated in a hole on the golf course that butts up to the homes. The bomb was discovered after early monday morning. Their arrests were unrelated to the chemicals found in one of their homes. Investigators say one of the two teens had Extensive Knowledge of chemicals. In my time here, i have not seen this level of sophistication from a juvenile. Reporter both of the teens are in custody this morning. The charges theyre facing currently unrelated to the chemicals that were found inside of this home. But other charges could later. The investigation is ongoing as the residents are allowed back into their home. About 30 evacuated yesterday can now return. A man burglarized a restaurant as it was packed with customers. Denver police are trying to find him. Owners of the Fresh Fish Company off hampden gave us this Surveillance Video of the restaurant being burglarized. You can see the man case the parking lot, then walk inside office. The owner karen parker says what you dont see on camera is a second door the thief busted through. This makes me feel violated. Ramp restrictions in place until 5 30 this morning, southbound along i25 trying to a stall northbound along parker road and another e470 and i 70. Starting today drivers can expect delays on i70 in georgetown. Crews will be doing rock fall mitigation work. This could cost hours rather than minutes on this delay, because its going to have 20 minute closures and with the amount of traffic and little alternate routes, delays cdot saying could last up to two hours. Reporter alex has been wary of peanuts for as long as he can remember. If i eat even one, my throat can close up. Reporter we met him in 2011 when he took part in a twoweek safety study. Every day he wore a disk peanut protein. No redness or swelling. Reporter now after a year of clinical trials, researchers found that nearly half of those treated with the patch could eat 10 times more peanut than before. Ten times more peanut for a lot of these meants is less than actually one peanut. Those arent kids who can eat peanut and butter sandwich. Reporter dr. Cho says the therapy trains system to tolerate small amounts of peanut. Its definitely not a cure, but i think it gives us a lot of information. Today open enrollment begins for the Affordable Care act. Jill schlesinger is here to tell us about it. If youre one of the 11 Million People covered and plan to reporter enrollment is open today through january 31st. If you want your coverage to begin as of the first of the year, you have to enroll by december 15th. Dont worry if you miss the deadline in january, you probably can enroll or change plans later in the year. You have to qualify for a special enrollment period. If you do not have any health care or you do not qualify for an exemption, you will be subject to manhattan dade mandate. It goes up to a maximum of over 2,000 for a family. The fee has been rising, but it now will remain at 2. 5 going forward. The fee will be adjusted for inflation. You pay the penalty on your federal income tax return you file for the year that you do not have coverage. We have heard there are sizable plan increases so why actually the average premium for a midlevel obamacare plan is set to spike by an eye popping 22 next year. The numbers are all over the place. There may be 50, 60 increases in some areas, and decreases in others. Now, this increase should not significantly affect the more than 80 of enrollees who qualify for premium tax credits. We get those credits to make coverage more affordable for lots of a lot more people will qualify for help, so you have to check that out. Three reasons why premiums have gone up by so much. Blame those Young Healthy folks who have not enrolled. When they conceiveed the plan, the government wanted 18 to 35 yearolds in the plan to keep premiums lower.
