Donald trump has been an active failure, and incompetent when it comes to addressing the severe job loss that has happened as a result of the pandemic because he has failed to address the pandemic itself. I see that the president has a lot to talk about in terms of saying, remember how the economy was. And what i had to do, im telling you, i can get us back to that place. If he can convince enough people that that is true then i think he will be in a pretty strong position going into election day. There is one thing i think both parties need to focus on and it should not be a partisan issue but its getting this legislation for an additional care is action done for people because a couple things i just want to point out, back in march when people were getting furloughed, if you made 50,000 or less, 40 of those people in america lost their jobs. If you made 100,000 or more, only 13 of those people lost their jobs. So if you are concerned about that and we all should be, we should be focused on getting those people back, you have to find ways to work in safety, get people back to restaurants, gyms, all the other jobs that were lost to get the economy moving again regardless of the election and partisan politics, focusing on those lower income people is imperative at this point. Emily compagno, i think one of the biggest gifts biden has given the president thus far is when he answered the rhetorical question about shutdowns. He said yeah, id shut it down and people already associated biden will shut downs because he wanted them to last throughout the summer. Now they associate him with future shutdowns and the president is really dialing in on joe though shut down candidate and i think thats going to hurt. Emily thats exactly right and taking back on danas point, thats the kind of reverberation people have, they dont want to go through another shut down, weve already been through them, we know what its like. If he can remind them that yes, the economy was superstrong but for covid and its rebounding fast, its hard for biden and harris to argue against it and i think its important that if people start to see a positive effect in their own lives, that will be huge for him. Final point, i will say that when they hit trump and the economy it can sort of have the effect that it seems they are rooting against the economic recovery and so there is a warning for them and that that that can bite them and final point, did you hear when the Vice President reminded today at the maryland power cooperative, he reminded the audience there that senator harris was one of only ten senators to vote against the usmca.
