Is that the right call . These are tough calls, wolf, no question about it. That was the benchmark they set when they hit 3 they were going to pull kids out of school again. I think the issue is that if you look at the positive iterate for the city you get this average 3 . For schools, they are a lot lower and something we have learned over the last several months as much concern there was among spread among students and still that concern. Positive iterate in new york city Public Schools according to some of this testing is 0. 17 so below 2 . Whereas, wolf, we know the types of places where the virus tends to spread a lot more. There is five places according to this article that came out that are the places of largest concern. They are restaurants, bars, cafes, hotel and places of worship. So these are the types of areas that if you could limit capacity there, you would have much greater impact of controlling the spread. Across much of the country the pandemic is far worse than the situation in new york city right now. We are nearing 225,000 deaths since the start of the pandemic in january. 249,935, 65 deaths sort of 225,000. If you take a look at the average positive iterate in some of the worst effective states its 30, 40. Look at the numbers. In south dakota, its 56 positive iteraity rate. Its awful. This gives you a clear idea of how disparate is the response is. Two different places entirely in terms of how people are responding to this within the states. You and i would always compare the United States to south korea because the pandemic began in south korea and the United States the same day. Patients were diagnosed the same day in both places. Everyone always said south korea, is that a really good example because they are only 50 Million People . Wolf, let me show you south korea compared to north and south dakota since we are talking about these places in particular. South korea, when you talk about total confirmed deaths throughout this pandemic, south korea is actually less now than south dakota or north dakota when it comes to total confirmed deaths. Can you believe that . That one country is lower than these two states which have population close to 1 million. Its not even close how bad even isolated states have become compared to the rest of the world. When south korea, as you correctly point out, a country of 506 Million People, when they had maybe 20 or 30 deaths, the u. S. Maybe had 5 or 10. Now we have almost 225,000 deaths and they have maybe 500 deaths all these months. They knew what they were doing and how to control the Contact Tracing and all of that. We are experiencing a spying and over 4,000 cases a day and over 2,000 in our hospitals. Its not without risk and not without cases. Our School Experience so far has been much better than any of us could have anticipated. 50 Senate Majority leader inschool transmissions and doesnt count what may come from the outside but impacting, say, a couple of hundred people and cumulative over two and a half months. We see over by comparison over 3,000 buildings. So youve got 50 something out of over 3,000. So far, so good. We also have different models, wolf. We have hundreds of School Districts so we have got some inperson and some hybrid and some remote and that combination is something i think we will be with a while. You know, governor, a lot of Public Health experts believe school should actually be the last Public Places to close, the first to reopen. If bars and restaurants and shops are still open, why are schools endangered of closing . At least in new jersey that is what i can speak to, obviously. We work with each of our School Districts one off and frankly that is not the case in new jersey. I honestly cant see a scenario where we transpose that at the moment. At the moment again. This virus dictates the terms but, right now, for instance recently, we cut off Indoor Dining at 10 00 p. M. At night because people started to get sloppy. We cut out bar seating at 10 00. In fact, at all hours. To pick two examples. Capacity limits are now down to ten people and we are concerned about thanksgiving. Schools consistently with strong ppe, barriers, very well disciplined parameters had been a bright spot and i hope they will continue to. If the teachers and the kids all wear masks, that is really, really significant, really critical as well. Lets talk, governor, about vaccine distribution. New jersey has drafted a plan for distributing a vaccine. Once its approved. Some are serbian. This one from 2005. Nigerian military sources verified to us that these are munitions that are currently in use by nigerias army. And in collaboration with the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network we were also able to procure serbian export documents proving that nigeria purchased weaponry from serbia for almost every year between 2005 and 2016. The shooting continued past midnight. Eyewitnesses tell us it wasnt just the army. At this point they say Police Arrived and opened fire. So why were live rounds used at a peaceful protest . This is important because nigerian authorities deny anyone was killed at the scene. Since this incident cnn has contacted over 100 protesters and family members. They started shooting. Some have fled the country. Cnn tried to share these findings with the Nigerian Army but received no response.
