A dynamic storm system impacted the eastern half of the country monday, continuing into tuesday, and it started with a deadly tornado outbreak. Severe weather across portions of the south resulted in over 30 tornado reports. You see across mississippi, louisiana, and into alabama, with multiple injuries reported as well. If theres any good news, it moves across on tuesday. Very low possibility of tornados as that front exits the coast. What it will bring is dangerous snow and ice to portions of the notheast. You can see this shield of snow early tuesday along new york and pennsylvania that will head to new england, bringing snow and ice into boston, much of massachusetts, into vermont and New Hampshire with dangerous icing across portions of rhode island and connecticut. That will continue right through tuesday afternoon. And even in its wake, some lakeeffect snow squalls may take shape as snow filters in behind the front. How much snow are we talking . In some spots, over half a foot. In new england, 6 to 12 inches of snow. In some cases there will be ice on top of that.
