Kostric Competes as Single at USBC Nationals
Wyoming, Mich.–Aleksander Kostric (Sr., Koper, Slovenia, Sports Management) performed well against the top bowlers in the nation as he battled at the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships Tuesday.
Kostric placed 19th out of 24 individuals in the six-game qualifier with 1,097 pins (182.8 avg.) with a high game of 235. Alec Keplinger of Wichita State topped the qualifying round with 1,318 pins (219.7 avg.).
Kostric drew #14 seed Shaun Quinn of Calumet-St. Joseph in the first round of the single elimination tournament. Unfortunately, the senior came up just short in the three-game series, 597-583, posting games of 160, 235, and 188.
He is the third individual to qualify for nationals in program history and the first since James Miller in the 2010-2011 campaign. Kostric closes the year with a 196.1 pin average in 40 games.
