Pull that open. It is the bane of our existence because you can spend more time trying to get us my son actually taking down my cooking the dish. I hav axt file folder here to organize them. Make a beautiful spice drawer with your ten most used spices. Ryan ones that my mother had from 1997. Amy you love baking. You pull out one, they all come out into your kitchen. It is impossible to pull out one thing. We are going to use a magazine holder here to organize our hair dryer in the flat iron. If thats too much, you can use two separate ones. You can actually drill it onto the inside door of your vanity so that you can just open it up and have it there. Kelly thats a good idea. Oh, my gosh. Amy we have your towels. To keep them fluffy, instead of stacking them one on top of another, roll them. That is going to keep them fluffy or longer. Same amount of space, but it increases the fluff factor. Kelly i like that. Amy i thought you might. My son always leaves his toothbrush in a pool of saliva. Cut about a half of an inch knot. You take off the top, and it the vanity, you will see i have attached the song to the door of the vanity with kind of reusable wall tape. You can do it on the wall. The kids hang in there. If you open the entire vanity, this is the most unused Storage Space because it is like a dark cavern. We lighten things up using clear organizers, and the toilet pap paper. Take it out of this plastic, and display it beautifully. You can get a clear box if you prefer to have it in storage, and if you make it beautiful, you can keep it beautiful. Kelly amy, these are such great tips. You are full of good ideas. Go to kellyandryan. Com for all of these ideas, and we will be right back. Stick around. Thank you. Se today, tamron officiates a virtual wedding. Join us as this happy couple says i do. Plus, how do celebrities like viola davis, judge judy and ll cool j make their marriages last . Well find out from talk show icon phil donahue and his wife of 40 years, marlo thomas, all right now on tamron hall. Hello, everyone, and welcome to tamron hall, from my home. So weve been talking a lot about love in this new world, i guess you can describe it as, that we live in. Weve talked to people whove started dating on apps, people who in the past said they would never go on a dating app now theyre on it, and theyre meeting new people. We talked with a couple and i thought it was so adorable who actually had a virtual date on zoom. She poured her glass of wine, he poured his glass of wine, and they got to know each other miles away. And then one of our other favorites, a guy who had had his eye on his neighbor for some time, he decided to use his drone and fly over a date request to her balcony. They went on a social distance date imagine that . Something weve never probably said in our lives, a date where you practice social distancing. But in the end, we know that all you need is love. But how do you sustain it during this very difficult time . How do you keep the love balance in check . Im going to marry, actually, a couple on the show today. Theyre starting their love journey. Yes, you heard me right, im going to marry them. We went online, i got a license, and im not afraid to use it. I will perform the very first ever tamron hall show wedding. Before we get to the wedding, though, somebody ive loved for a long time, two people ive loved for a long time, phil donahue and marlo thomas. Of course, you cant be in daytime television and not bow down to the great phil donahue. I told you when we started the show, i wanted and insisted that i have a seat in the audience, and i was able to move around our audience. So that was my homage to phil. Marlo thomas has inspired me over the years. When i worked at the today show, she would come on and talk about st. Jude. And knowing her tireless work on behalf of families and children who are battling cancer, always touched my heart, in her commitment to her fathers legacy. So you have phil on one end pulling at my heart strings, marlo on the other pulling on my heart strings yes, its all about love. And then, as luck would have it, recently i was at my dear friend, al rokers house, and i ran into phil. He mentioned to me look at me, i can call him phil he mentioned to me that he was working on a book about marriage, and how you make a marriage last. And they talk about in the book some of the longestrunning marriages, if you will, and what those people learned about each other, and how they kept it together. Well, guess what . My heart is racing because marlo and phil join us now from their living room in new york city. So great to see both of you you cant see him, but my husband is standing off to the corner taking pictures. I could cry right now, to have you both together. How are you holding up, marlo . How is it going . Were doing well. Were cooking together, were having three meals a day together. Im doing the wash. Hes doing the wash. And youre chopping. Im chopping. Im making italian food, hes chopping, slicing while im sauteing. Its been really fun. I was thinking about your book. And ive always wondered, how did you meet, phil . Because my husband tells a very different version of how we met and how he got me to marry him than i recall. How did you and marlo actually meet . Well, marlo was a guest on my tv show. So there i was, thrilled i mean, you know, she looked like down from heaven. Oh, wow. And he was divorced. Yeah, i was what you might call available. [laughter] and the show went great. I was a little nervous, but, you know, she was an impure thought. I hope i still am. Yes, of course. Of course. She was a perfect guest, because she could talk politics. Very active in the womens movement. And she was a movie star. And we had a wonderful time, really, on the hour. We had a chemical reaction, truthfully. You know, that white hair and the blue eyes, it was like a shampoo commercial, everything got kind of fuzzy, and slow motion. [laughter] marlo, i love that you called it a chemical reaction, because when people are trying to make a marriage last, thats been something that ive been told fades away, and you have to find something other than the chemical reaction. When i was introducing the two of you, i wanted to make sure that we said equally amazing celebrity couple, because youve had 40 years of this marriage together. You beat the odds for famous and a nonfamous marriage. Statistically, you beat every odds. Is that why you wanted to write this book . We did the book because we wanted to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and also because we were asking ourselves, how does this last . And we thought it would be fun in this very negative time to do something positive that would make us feel good, and other people feel good. And we have a lot of good friends whove been married a long time. So with those as our sort of base, we thought, lets reach out and see who else has been married a long time, and ask them, wow, what did they do when they were confronted with challenges . Like Kyra Sedgwick and kevin bacon, you know, they lost all their savings to bernie madoff. And michael j. Fox and tracy pollan were in their third year of marriage, they found out of this lifelong diagnosis that michael had. Jesse jackson and Jackie Jackson he strayed in the middle of their marriage. So all these things that people face, and what did they do to get them through it . And some of them went through marriage counseling. Who all went through marriage counseling . The howards, ron and cheryl howard. Yes. I think thats the real act of love. Yeah, it is. I mean, when you care enough about hanging on to the relationship and you go to a professional to talk about the personal stuff thats bothering you or her and a lot of people did, like Bryan Cranston and robin dearden, and Neil Patrick Harris and david burtka. And they dont go for a referee, as Bryan Cranston said. They go for an interpreter. Because youre not sure sometime, you get into a fight with your spouse because you think they meant something else. This way, you say, oh, thats what he meant by that. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, kelly ripa and Mark Consuelos talked about the time they were having a fight in their first year of marriage, and he threw her wedding ring out the window. Now a lot of people might have thought, this guys crazy. But she really loved him, and she really got it. And she said, look, youre just scared. And im scared, too. Yeah. Wow. And they went out they went out and found the ring. So the thing is, is that you can get through this i love that. If you really love somebody. What did they say, a successful marriage is when two people dont go crazy at the same time. So he went crazy, and she didnt. I cant think of two better people to have provided the path to love. Marlo and phils new book, what makes a marriage last is available now. Thank you both. Thank you, marlo, for everything you do. Thank you. Thank you, phil, for inspiring my entire career and providing the path for someone like me to end up here. So thank you. I love you both. Thank you thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Bye. Were back. Every bride dreams of the moment her wedding finally arrives. A year or more of planning, the cake, the bouquet, the tasting menu, choosing the wedding flowers, laboring over the guest list, and of course, picking out that perfect dress. But for brides to be during this pandemic the dream weddings feel like a distance memory. With stay at home orders and social distancing, theyve been forced to change course and find a new way to say, i do. In san francisco, one blushing bride took the traditional walk down the aisle in front of family and friends, but with a hightech twist. The wedding was livestreamed, and pews were filled with photographs of Church Members social distancing at its finest. One couple tied the knot at a texas drivein movie theater. Guests cheered and honked from inside their cars. Fiancees are learning to let go of plans that were years in the making the invitation said beach attire in mexico, but these oregon lovebirds ditched their original dreams and ended up getting hitched at the courthouse. For one miami couple, first came baby, then the next day came marriage. The staff at a Florida Hospital surprised the new parents with a wedding, after learning their plans to marry earlier were put on hold, because the courthouse was closed due to covid19. This nurse and Police Officer from long island decided to wed on the day of their bridal shower. They planned the entire lastminute celebration in just 12 hours. This First Responder couple said their vows in front of their home, then danced the night away with their closest friends and neighbors, who were toasting from far away. And the happy couple, kelly and andrew, join us from their home in long island, new york. Let me tell you how i wanted to be at that party. I, of course, would have kept my distance. But you guys made the best of a difficult situation. Kelly, you originally thought that you would get married the first week of june, you were planning about 250 guests. You had to scrap those plans and do all of it two months earlier. What was your anxiety level . How were you processing it . Its honestly just, like, a relief to get married, not worry about if it will happen, when it will happen. So i was really glad to get married and not have to worry about Everything Else that was going on. Well, you know, you guys are keeping really tough schedules. Kelly, youre a nurse, andrew, youre a Police Officer. Youre working overnight shifts, youre working around the clock, im sure, in many cases. Did that factor in, andrew, to the timing of the wedding . We just wanted to make sure that we got married before we had the most amount of exposure that we were going to have, because we did want to have some close family at the wedding, and we didnt want to get them sick, just in case we got it. So it affected it a little bit. I cant believe it. Twelve hours is what you put into the planning. It takes me 12 hours to plan out my sons breakfast in the morning. So you pulled off a whole wedding. Andrew, so cute, your dad officiated the wedding. Yes. Kelly, take me through the day. When you woke up, youre, like, okay, this is game time. And then did the rest of the day go pretty fast . Yeah. We had the ceremony in the morning, and then the parade started almost immediately after. Everyone just ended up parking, and music was playing, and it just became a huge celebration, which i wasnt expecting, so everything was spread out. It was really nice. Yeah. Yeah. Everyone was okay, you know what . You just said, the parade for the wedding. You had a wedding parade. Im sure that wasnt originally in the plans for prepandemic, the june thing. So you got a parade out of this. Kelly, i love that youre the first grandchild in the family to get married. Obviously, superimportant and special to have your grandparents be there. How did you include them . They actually live right next door, so they were able to watch everything just from their driveway and from their porch. They were able to hear all the music, be dancing in their driveway. They were just they were so cute we were able to get that picture of us with them in the background. My other favorite moment i dont know who that was, someone dancing through the driveway. You got your first dance together in the driveway. The neighbors joined in. Tell me about just, you know, the energy, because thats what were trying to do; were trying to find all of our new norms. And somehow, i love this story, because you captured it. You did the pivot and you made it special, that dance in the driveway. How did that feel, andrew . We werent sure how the neighbors were going to take the whole thing. We didnt want to upset anyone with so many honks for what was supposed to be the driveby bridal shower. But once everyone realized what was going on, they all came out on their porches, and they were happy. They were dancing with us and cheering with us. Taking pictures. Yeah. And the amount of support that we got after the fact you know, people were reaching out to us saying, this is exactly what the neighborhood needed. Its great to have a positive thing going amongst all this. Yeah, they were all, like, saying, thank you thank you and we were, like, oh, [inaudible]. Aww, that is so sweet you know, i love it. Like a true law enforcement, andrew is, like, you know, i didnt want to disturb the neighbors. Its a beautiful wedding come on, you broke up all of us staying inside in a lockdown with this beautiful moment. Im sure they all loved it. Well, congratulations, kelly and andrew. Thank you again for all youre doing on the front lines of this pandemic. And this is something none of us will forget, so thank you for sharing your moment with us. Thank you. Its a story for the kids. [laughter] definitely all right, coming up, virtual wedding planners . Yes, that is now a job. And my friend, wedding planner extraordinaire, jung lee is here to show us how she helped the couple that i am about to marry plan their special day. So im officiating, and then the wedding planner has something that you just wont see anywhere else. Thats next. And this is country crock. We start with farmgrown ingredients, slowchurned right here in the middle of the country. Which is fitting, because weve been at the middle of tables for generations. That is, until someone at the end needs a little more on their biscuits. No matter where your table is, pull up a chair and bring the country in. Well while the pandemic has forced lots of couples to cancel or even postpone weddings, others have decided to go for it in a true sign of the times. States like new york, california, ohio and colorado, theyve now made virtual weddings legal. So as more couples turn to video chat apps to stage their ceremonies, wedding planners have shifted their Business Model to adjust to our new normal. Now theyre providing virtual consultations to help couples plan out their wedding day. And to tell us more about it, weve got the best in the business. Shes been named one of the countrys best wedding planners by vogue and Harpers Bazaar magazine. She happens also to be one of my dear friends, jung lee joins us from her home in new york city. Im so happy to have you on, because i know that youve been putting on beautiful weddings for years now, events you did my baby shower. How has this pandemic affected your business . Certainly this is a new norm. And so what were doing is, is im holding my couples hands and were going through it together. So some of them doing virtual small weddings, and some of them are obviously, theres been a lot of date changes, you know, to next year, where they feel more comfortable. But i have to say, the vast majority are sticking to their guns, staying with their date, and then doing a big celebration when we can come together. Now you say throwing an elegant virtual wedding is doable. Is it more expensive . And how is it possible . Quite frankly, i love this time, in the sense that obviously, its horrendous time for the entire country. But as a wedding couple, it really spotlights who they are and their true essence. And thats what i love doing with my couples. Really figuring out, what is it about them that were sharing . So its not about the drama, typical weddings, but its really concentrating on their love and their commitment to each other. So weve made it ver weve stripped it down, really made it about them and their commitment to each other. And what a way to start their new life together. I love that, jung, because again, you talk about the stripping away so many people are looking at this time where we are sheltered in place and locked down, and saying, did i really need all of the things i thought i did prior to and that applies to weddings. Did you really need all of those things to pull off this beautiful occasion . I know when you heard about the couple that were marrying, you wanted to jump right in and help and have a virtual wedding for them. I knew youd be the perfect person. You spent some time with them. I want to show folks what your time with them looked like. Take a look. When my team saw this Instagram Post about a couple getting engaged during the pandemic, we knew we had to reach out. Bridetobe aisha was shocked to learn that her quarantine date night was, in fact, a wedding proposal in the making. Aisand kelton, an elementaryt a bu school pe teacher, met eight years ago in college. They were introduced by friends, and have been inseparable ever since. They love the same music, traveling, and have a passion for eclectic cuisines. This love story was meant to be, and now theyre getting married in quarantine. Hi hi i just want to get to know you guys a little bit more, and try to make this day really magical and special. So tell me, how are you feeling about getting married . Theres been, like, a full range of emotions. I think your ceremony has to be superpoignant and superspecial. And if youre really close to your moms, i think, like, if we can have them participate as part of the service. And what about flowers and stuff . I would love the idea of kind of, like, the eucalyptusy, you know, kind of more greenery flowers. Yeah, okay. And what about the wedding cake . What flavor do you both like . She loves tiramisu. Yeah, tiramisu is my absolutely favorite. Spongy cake, you know, like a strawberry shortcake. Got it. Then obviously, we have should have some yummy champagne and bubblies. But its an amazing celebration, and we should really craft it so it feels like the two of you. How do you make it feel special and feel like its this milestone moment . Yeah. I mean, those personalized vows are really nice, so sometimes the groom writes his, the bride writes hers. And then on the part of the ceremony, thats the first time you hear it together. I havent thought about the words, but just trying to think about, how do i convey my emotion of these thoughts . You know, i love that. Your home is truly where your heart is, and i think it relays its relevance to you guys more than any other couple that ive ever talked to. You know, like the love at the home, the proposal at home, and potentially the wedding at home. Its just, like, its a special place. I really appreciate you definitely sharing these wonderful insights with us. You guys are mavericks. People are going to look at this, theyre, like, yeah, we can do it, too well, congratulations, guys. Thank you. Okay, that is so sweet. Listen, jung, i know that you are under a lot of stress. Youre a mom, this is your business, youre a Small Business owner, trying to find your way. The fact that you would do this for this couple is so sweet. What does it mean to you to be able to share this love in this virtual new world . Well, listen, life still goes on, even with this pandemic. And, like, thats the whole point about life, and thats why i love doing what i do, creating these celebrations that you can always hold on to. So while its different than what aisha would have wanted originally, i think shes really embracing it, because weve done a lot of special, special touches that only reflect her. And you can only do this in this format, where it is virtual. But you can still bring people in. So anyway, im super excited about them. Jung, thank you so much for your help. I think they are just about ready. And next, aisha and kelton may not be going to the chapel, but theyre gonna get married, by me. I cant wait okay. Let me oh, ive got to rehearse. All right, well be right back. Rehearsal in the break. But well be right back. The conversation continues on social media platforms, facebook, twitter, youtube and instagram. And visit is at tamronhallshow. Com. Lets talk about it, and get through this together. Its good. That was our bridetobe, aisha beckerburrowes getting ready in her spectacular morilee wedding dress, for our very first tamron hall show wedding. Thank you to Madeline Gardner and the team at morilee for helping make this day so special for aisha. The dress is beautiful so let me first ill meet the groom, please welcome kelton cumberbatch. Hi, kelton you look fantastic as well. So how are you feeling . Are you nervous . Yes, im very nervous, but its a good nerve to have, because i know im excited, im ready to go. You look fantastic, and were ready to go as well. Aishas mother, carla, and keltons mom, alma, are there as well. Theyre both recording the wedding for us. All of you have been selfquarantined and healthy, so youve gathered safely at the home. Youre following all of the safety precautions. Now i think were ready for the bride. Aisha, your father, jah breeze, wanted to surprise you. Thats your dad playing the steel drum as you are walking down the aisle. Im already ready to cry. But here we go. What a special occasion. Who gives this woman to be married to this man . I do. Dearly beloved, were gathered here today to get through this thing called life. Okay, im kidding. I had to have a little moment of brevity there. Aisha and kelton, you both look so beautiful and so happy. A big thank you to jung lee, one of the best event planners in the world, who pulled off this virtual wedding. In addition to your parents, your family and over 100 friends are joining in virtually from all across the country, including keltons best friend, rich, and aishas sister camy, natasha and selah. Hi, everybody hi love is so many things. But what we know is, love can never be defeated. Nothing that we are experiencing on this day, in this moment, in this time will affect your very special bond. What you have together will only continue to thrive and to grow in a beautiful way. And it is a privilege to be here to witness your commitment to each other and watch your families being with joy over the love that is shared between the two of you. You each have provided vows. Kelton, you go first. First, id like to say, you look amazing and aisha, today we are choosing to commit to each other in front of our families, friends and the nation. Although we are in these challenging times, i am choosing our love, friendship and partnership as my guiding light. It wasnt always easy, but theres no one else id rather be quarantined with than you. It was through this discomfort that our love and growth has really shined. More than ever, i appreciate the amazing woman you are. Through our years of dating, ive grown to love james baldwin, music concerts, different ethnic foods, black and brown authors, and the beauty of traveling. Today i choose you because your commitment to black culture has allowed me to learn about myself and our collective history. You challenge me to be better in a loving and nurturing way. Aisha, i promise i will close the Cabinet Doors after opening them. I promise to not chew my food so loud. I promise to pause and listen. I promise to hug and kiss you daily. I promise to say i love you daily. I promise to support your dreams, and finally, i promise to never stop learning and growing with you. I could not imagine choosing another person to love, laugh, cry, travel and experience life with. Together our love will continue to evolve. Heres to us continuing to be perfectly imperfect. Kelton, as im standing here today, i cant help but think about our journey the good, the bad and the challenging. Its been eight years since i met you, and through that time weve traveled to countless countries, journeyed on many adventures, chased after the breeze and hiked the highest mountains. Weve laughed, weve danced and weve cried. But most importantly, weve grown. I stand here knowing that our collective commitment to growth will see us through, and that just like this time in our lives, with you by my side, i can weather any storm. Today i vow to you that i will always be your light through the dark. I promise to be your best friend. I promise to love you unconditionally, even when i can hear you chewing from the other room, because i promise to choose you every day. I promise to lean into our love, even when it feels hard. I promise that none of the material things matter. All that matters is my love for you. While we may be imperfect, there is nothing imperfect about our love. I promise to continue to grow with you, to explore with you, to adventure to whichever corner of the world we choose to see next. With the way i love to travel, lets hope thats often. I promise to continue to expand our worlds and our lives, to challenge you, and to see you. But most of all, i promise to define our love and our love story for ourselves. Theres no one way to do this love thing; lets continue to do it our way. I love you. Kelton, do you take aisha to be your wife . Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect her all the days of her life . I do. And aisha, do you take kelton to be your husband . Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect him all the days of his life . I do. Now it is time for the rings. Thank you so much to the team at james allen jewelry for the beautiful wedding bands. Your wedding rings are special. They enhance who you are. They mark the beginning of your long journey together. Your wedding ring, its a circle, a symbol of love never ending. It is the seal of the vows you have just taken to love each other without end. Kelton and aisha, please place the rings on each others left hand, and repeat after me. I give you this ring i give you this ring. Wear it with love and joy. Wear it with love and joy. And this ring has no end. And this ring has no end. My love is also forever. My love is also forever. From matthew 9 16, so they are no longer two, but one. But before we pop the bottle, i mean, just taking in where we are right now, jung lee was the wedding planner who helped you put this together. She said something to the effect of, love has to go on. And these ceremonies have to go on. When you were thinking about this last night, staying up and preparing for this, how did it feel to you to be Going Forward with everything in all the challenges that were all facing . To be honest, it felt, like, appropriate, i guess, you know, because at least for us, weve been together for a while. But just this particular challenge, as i mentioned in my vows, kind of have really pushed us to appreciate each other even more, and value life, and value the people youre around, the people who you have in your life. So to me it really kind of just brought home that its really important to live in the moment, take advantage of things that are occurring now. Yeah. And dont wait. We just dont know what tomorrow is like, whats promised for tomorrow. That is so true. You know what, we didnt see this coming, but here we are. And were all trying to move forward. You talk about the people around you i have to talk to your moms. Carla and alma first of all, thank you for the camera work. I just love both moms just coming in, just filming each direction. Thank you for double duty. Most come on in. Most moms get to sit in the pew and have a hanky and watch it. You were both taping. Carla, how did it feel . Did you think that this day would happen in the middle of the pandemic . Did you know that they would be able to go forward . No, i didnt really think that it was going to happen during this time. It was a complete and utter gift, and a honor for everybody to be going through this. And its a blessing for us to come together as families during this time, just loving people as we are right now. So no, i did not expect this. But its a beautiful gift. And i appreciate it. I want to tell you both, moms, you look beautiful, considering were in quarantine and you didnt have hair and makeup and people helping you it is pulled together beautifully alma, are you able to breathe now . Because you were working hard on the camera. Are you able to breathe . Yes. [laughter] yes, i am. Fantastic well, listen, seeing the four of you standing there, its just such a beautiful picture. And we have a little surprise for you. You cant have a wedding without wedding photos, and jung lee did it again shes arranged for world renowned photographer Christian Ott to capture your wedding day. We just surprised our newlymarried couple, aisha and kelton, with that luxury honeymoon in fiji, which, of course, sounds incredible right now. But imagine being on your honeymoon when the entire world gets locked down overnight. Thats what happened to one couple from san diego. Hi. Im melyssa la verde. And im charlie la verde. We got married on march 7th [inaudible], mexico. So it was absolutely gorgeous. Yeah. And it was the wedding of my dreams. We left on march 10th from our wedding, and cancun, and then flew directly into cusco. When we got there, our families would be sending us Group Messages and news reports of whats going on at home, and even though were on our honeymoon and having these beautiful meals in that absolutely gorgeous area, there was that amount of stress that was added. We woke up, and we were staying at a beautiful place right at the beach. And the phone rang, and it was the front desk. The president announced that if you dont leave by midnight, youre stuck here for 15 days on quarantine. We just kind of decided to try and make our situation as comfortable as we could possibly be for the next 15 days. It was a military quarantine, so you were only allowed to go out of the house one time per day, and the only things that were open were Grocery Stores and pharmacies. It was really hard to be stuck inside and not be able to leave. I mean, it was just there was not a whole lot you could do. We finally got home, and i mean, when i was on the plane, we were both squeezing each others hands so hard when it was taking off, you know . Like, we didnt want to get our hopes up. We were on the plane, but, like, are we actually going to take off . We made it were in miami melyssa and charlie join us from their home in san diego. I mean, how good is it to be able to say the word home . Im home. You had an amazing wedding in mexico. Did you ever think youd have problems getting to peru for your honeymoon . No. I didnt really think that there was going to be any problem at all. I mean, at that point, there wasnt a lot of news about it, and there were hardly any cases there. So everythings already booked and planned, and we were definitely going. Yeah. We didnt think in any way that we were going to get stuck in peru on a quarantine from that, so its definitely interesting. I mean, who could have thought no one would have thought of Something Like that. I mean, melyssa, you were in your room, you were at the hotel. And you said you had 12 hours to get out of the country. What did you do to get out . How did you all get out . The first thing we decided to do was call the embassy, because thats what everybody was telling us to do. And the phone just rang and rang, and no one picked up. The only direction that was given to us was to check the embassy website. So we decided to make the decision to go to an airbnb and just made ourselves as comfortable as possible, and eventually we got home on a standby flight from the embassy. Wow. Wow. Many days later. Thats interesting, you said the airbnb. I was wondering why you had to do your own Grocery Shopping, because i thought, wait a minute, they were at a hotel, and now theyre Grocery Shopping on the little bit of time that youre allowed to walk out the door. So you were in peru for 22 days. We did a show recently on what its like to be in quarantine around the world. It sounds very frightening where you were, especially because its a military quarantine. How do you describe the tension . It was a little scary at first, because we didnt really know what was going to happen. We dont speak spanish that well. And there was cops on the corner of streets, and there was patrols going on, and checkpoints. So we would head to the Grocery Store, and a lot of times you would, you know, kind of have to answer where you were going, whats going on. Just the idea that we would be there for that long was a little overwhelming at first. But going to the Grocery Store and shopping and kind of making food and doing those things gave it the sense of having a bit of, like, a normal life. So it kind of kept us distracted. You know, it made it a little more fun. Yeah. Thats amazing. I have to tell you, you say the word fun, it looked like you two were really enjoying each others company. I know that its tough, but now looking back, its not the start you wanted, certainly, to any marriage. But i dont know what else you i mean, its all uphill from there. I mean, does it feel like that its all uphill from that point . Yeah, absolutely. I mean, people are saying, like, wow, this is really trial by fire here for your marriage, and everything. But, i mean, we were so busy leading up to the wedding and a destination, and all the things you have to do, planning our honeymoon. So we really relished in the time we had together. And, you know, were two very positive people, and we had a lot of support from everyone back home. So we decided to, you know, blog our cooking and make the most fun that we possibly could. Well, you are officially couple [inaudible], because i dont know how many couples could have survived that. Congratulations on your wedding. And thank you so much for sharing this incredible story. Im so happy you both are safe at home together, smiling. Its good to see it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much.
