The West Bengal government has advanced the summer vacation for state-run and aided schools to begin from April 22 due to ongoing heatwave conditions. A notification from the School Education Department stated that both students and school staff will be on leave during this period, except in hill areas like Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts where the existing academic schedule will continue.
