Children's Corner grows from 20 to 500 students in 31 years

More than three decades ago, Jemery Palmer introduced a new concept to Greenville Public Schools that would end up flourishing beyond anyone’s imagination: Children’s Corner. What started as a “latchkey” innovative by Palmer introduced at the start of the 1991-1992 school year to help fill a void of childcare options in the community by offering before-and-after-school sessions — beginning with only 20 students at Walnut Hills Elementary School — has since grown into a prominent daycare program throughout the entire district with approximately 500 children enrolled and 35 staff members overseeing it.
