BOLTON'S top performing school has been recognised for ensuring bright young people receive a first class education— regardless of their background. Bolton School has been shortlisted in three categories in this year's Independent School Parents' School of the Year Awards. It was shortlisted in the Social Mobility, Performing Arts and Outstanding New Initiatives Category. The foundation of Bolton School was built on the principle of providing a good education for all capable children — a vision Lord Leverhulme had when he re-endowed the school in 1915. From the Class of 2020, 42 pupils received financial assistance from the school. Of those 38 continued their studies at university — 32 securing places at some of the country's top universities, with a number now studying medicine.
