Its wednesday the 25th of october. A United Nations agency which looks after Palestinian Refugees has warned it could stop its work in gaza tonight if it doesnt receive urgent deliveries of fuel. Last night, eight trucks carrying food, water and medicine crossed the rafah border between egypt and gaza, but israel has banned fuel from entering the territory, saying hamas would use it for military purposes. Hamas is designated as a Terrorist Organisation by many western governments, including the uk. There are now growing International Calls for a humanitarian pause in the fighting, to allow aid to reach gazas residents. 0ur middle east correspondent Yolande Knell has the latest. The slow trickle of aid. Just eight lorries carrying water, food and medicine made their way into gaza last night. But whats not getting in is fuel. Hospitals are struggling. Here, medics use their phones to light the way as a patient arrives, as theres no fuel for generators and theyre overwhelmed by casualties. Israel has banned fuel from entering the territory, saying hamas, designated as a Terrorist Group by many western governments, including the uk, may use it for military purposes. The un agency which looks after Palestinian Refugees has warned it could stop its operation in gaza as soon as tonight without it. If we do not get more fuel into gaza, we, as unwra, the largest aid agency in gaza, will not be able to carry out any humanitarian operations. With plenty of Aid Building Up in egypt, theres frustration about the sluggish relief effort. This is one of the who trucks loaded with the urgent needs for patients inside gaza. There is trauma kits, there is medicine and drugs, there is the disposable, which is much needed now to treat the patients and to manage casualties inside gaza. This baby was rescued by an Emergency Caesarean after yesterdays bombing in khan younis. Its mum, Navin Abu 0deh is fighting for her life. Her husband, a un worker, was killed, and another five family members. Theres been a big jump in the death toll, with official palestinian figures showing many hundreds killed in the past 2a hours. At the un, the Secretary General, antonio guterres, said the bombardment and blockade of gaza violated international law, sparking a diplomatic row. As did the use of civilians as Human Shields by high mass. I am deeply concerned about the clear violations of International Humanitarian law that we are witnessing in gaza. Let me be clear no party to an Armed Conflict is above International Humanitarian law. But diplomatic efforts continue. Now, International Calls are mounting for a humanitarian pause in fighting, with the us, proposing a temporary lull in hostilities, short of a formal ceasefire. And while israels war with hamas is raging, there are other fronts heating up. Thousands of troops are now gathering on israels northern border with lebanon, and there were strikes in neighbouring syria overnight. It adds to the fears that whats happening in gaza will create wider regional turmoil. Yolande knell, bbc news, jerusalem. 0ur middle east correspondent Yolande Knelljoins us now from jerusalem. Yolande, explain to us why fuel isnt getting in . First of all, after those terrible attacks on the 7th of october, israel stopped fuel from going on, it closed its only commercial crossing with the gaza strip, and the fuel used to be used for the power plant in gaza which was forced to turn off. Electricity was also stopped from going through to the mains supply which palestinians used to be able to buy. Now all of the reserve fuel in gaza has run out but the Israeli Military insists it will not allow the aid which comes in to include fuel because it says in the past that has been diverted by hamas Foreign Military infrastructure in the gaza strip and it has said to the gaza strip and it has said to the un to get back the fuel that was stolen in the past by hamas and use it to fuel the hospitals. And there have been growing calls overnight for a humanitarian pause to end the fighting. Is that likely to happen . There are also calls for a full on ceasefire to end the bloodshed, coming from russia and arab countries, but israel has completed, completely ruled that out in recent days, saying it is determined to dismantle hamas. What has shifted in recent hours is you are also hearing from the us, the closest ally of israel, a new call for a lull in hostilities, and you had the us Secretary Of State Anthony Boynton saying in comments thatjust as a high mass just as hamas was obliged to stop hiding behind civilians, israel was obliged to take all precautions to avoid harm to civilians, and he said humanitarian pauses should be considered to allow aid to get into the people who really need it. 0ur gaza correspondent Rushdi Abualoufjoins us now from the Southern City of khan younis. We are hearing from the United Nations, aid workers in gaza, they are going to have to stop relief work because of the lack of fuel. It sounds desperate. Sounds desperate. Over 600,000 eo le will sounds desperate. Over 600,000 peeple will be sounds desperate. Over 600,000 people will be left sounds desperate. Over 600,000 people will be left without sounds desperate. Over 600,000 people will be left without water, | people will be left without water, electricity and shelter if the un, the largest aid agency providing aid to most of the people who were displaced from their homes in gaza city and the north. I have been to one of these camps, the first camp that the un set up, about 200 tents and about 3000 people. It is catastrophic, they are struggling to find water and food, there is no bathroom, very limited bathrooms, people are queueing to go to the bathroom. So what about if they shut to this centre and about 120 or 130 centres housing people . Capacity is full and it is overloaded with people. It is everywhere. People in corridors, outside this centre. Here in the hospital around me, you can see people are sleeping in tents inside the hospital, any space or empty land, anyplace which can house people is full of people displaced, from the north. The israelis asked the people to leave their houses in the people to leave their houses in the north and gaza city and to come south. I heard from people yesterday that no place is safe. There were around four or five air strikes around four or five air strikes around this hospital this morning, People Killed overnight in israeli air strikes, so people believe no place is safe, so many people will start to take the journey back to their houses if they can find it, because of the scale of destruction is unbelievable. We are getting footage and pictures from neighbourhoods in gaza city, one neighbourhood, 35 buildings flattened to the ground, leaving thousands of people homeless in the area. No place is safe, there is no place you can find shelter in gaza city or the so called safe area. You city or the socalled safe area. You mentioned city or the socalled safe area. You mentioned the city or the so called safe area. You mentioned the strikes overnight, what are other nights like . Essen; what are other nights like . Every niuht is what are other nights like . Every night is the what are other nights like . Every night is the same, what are other nights like . Every night is the same, the what are other nights like . Every night is the same, the night what are other nights like . Er night is the same, the night before was the deadliest i have seen. Last night was tough but not as tough as the night before. Comparing the number of People Killed. This morning it is still early, people are still gathering information from different centres and different hospitals, but by ten oclock gaza time, two hours from now, they will release all the details of the last 24 release all the details of the last 2a hours, with the number of israeli strikes and the number of People Killed in those strikes. We understand from the hospital and medical sources, about 80 people have been killed overnight. Thank ou for have been killed overnight. Thank you for talking have been killed overnight. Thank you for talking to have been killed overnight. Thank you for talking to us. Ben has more of todays news. Labour leader sir keir starmer and his Deputy Angela rayner will meet with muslim mps this afternoon, amid tensions over the leaderships stance on the israel gaza war. It comes after an Islamic Centre visited by mr starmer accused him of Gravely Misrepresenting its position. 0ur chief Political Correspondent Henry Zeffman joins us now. Henry, what can we expect from todays meeting . Keir starmer s position on this war has been fairly consistent so far and very similar to the governments, namely israel has a right to defend itself, a right to try to degrade hamas and its capabilities, but there should be humanitarian support for gaza. Generally there has been fairly broad support for that in the labour party In Westminster, but there are signs that is changing and actually perhaps the main reason for that is something that happened a couple of weeks ago. Keir starmer gave a Radio Interview in which he effectively said that israel has a right to deny fuel and water to gaza. He now says that isnt what he meant to say, that isnt what he meant to say, that he saw thought he was answering a different question, but by the point at which we got that Clarification Clips of the interview had reverberated around, particularly, labour mps tell me, in Whatsapp Groups in parliamentary constituencies where there are high levels, where there are many members of the muslim community, and they have been Piling Pressure on labour mps about labour s position, complaining about keir starmer s comments and about labour s stance more generally. There have been resignations of some councillors, which is not idealfor keir starmer but manageable. This meeting today as a sign of tensions may be spreading to westminster and the parliamentary party, and that could be a bigger problem for keir starmer. A search is ongoing for four people who are missing after a british cargo ship sank in the north sea, near the german coast. The verity had seven crew on board when it collided with another cargo ship yesterday morning. One person died, two were rescued and four remain missing. The cause of the collision is being investigated. The former us President Donald Trump has attended His Civil Fraud Trial in new york, where he denies all charges. He came face to face with his fomer lawyer, michael cohen, who testified that mr trump would tell him to inflate the value of his properties to secure more favourable loans. A museum in paris says it has fixed a waxwork of The Wrestler Turned Movie Star Dwayne The Rock johnson, after he complained its skin tone was too light. The Grevin Museum unveiled the life sized figure earlier this month but was accused of whitewashing the actor, who has dual heritage. Hospital failings are still causing too many deaths from sepsis, Ten Years After a report highlighted steps that could be taken to drastically reduce fatalities. Thats according to the ombudsman which handles nhs complaints. With more details, heres our Health Correspondent Dominic Hughes. Every year in the uk there are around 118,000 deaths from sepsis, many of them preventable. In 2021, 13 year old martha mills died after hospital staff failed to correctly act on the Warning Signs of the illness. 0ne year old william mead died in 2014 after his mums concerns were dismissed by doctors. And in 2011, two year old Maude Watkins died, having been sent home twice after her infection was missed. Sepsis is a life threatening overreaction to an infection, by the bodys immune system, that causes damage to both tissues and organs. Todays report says that, despite years of trying to raise awareness, mistakes are still being made, including delays in diagnosing and treating sepsis, poor communication between staff and substandard record keeping. Patients are not reliably being screened for sepsis. When sepsis is thought to be present, its not often recognised quickly and there are also often delays in treating. And of course, for a life threatening condition like sepsis, that can be catastrophic. The government has committed to implementing what is known as marthas rule, named after martha mills, to give patients the right to a Second Opinion if they believe their concerns are not being taken seriously. Dominic hughes, bbc news. Bankers will no longer have their bonuses capped from the end of this month. As it stands, they can receive no more than double their basic salary. Ben can tell us more. Ben, whats behind this move . The cap on bankers bonuses is being removed from the end of this month in a shake up of financial rules. The government says it will make the uk and london in particular a more attractive place to do business. The cap was introduced in 2014 to try and limit excessive risk taking by financialfirms after the 2008 crash. It limited the size of bonuses that banks, Building Societies and Investment Firms could pay their staff. A maximum of twice their basic salary. Last year the former chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng proposed scrapping that rule in the Ill Fated Mini Budget but the idea was ditched after turmoil on financial markets. Now the government has confirmed the cap will go. Labour has spoken out against this move while the leader of the trade Union Congress has called it obscene. Some bankers will be pleased that they can now get bigger bonuses. But some will prefer the Current System which meant a more reliable income. Thats because over the last decade banks increased basic salaries instead to make sure they could still compete with the likes of new york and singapore in attracting the top talent. When russia launched its full scale invasion of ukraine last year, it put so much of everyday life on hold, including the world class performances of the kyiv based National Symphony 0rchestra. Well, they havent stayed silent for long. Now its players are demonstrating their resilience, as well as their talent, with a tour of the uk. 0ur Reporterjenniferjones went to see them in cardiff. An Award Winning orchestra, renowned as one of the finest in eastern europe, based in kyiv since 1918. The National Symphony orchestra of ukraine has performed in Concert Halls across the world. But when russia invaded in february last year, everything changed. We started our activity, but this activity was dangerous because regular alarms. So sometimes when youre performing in kyiv, you have to go underground to the air raid shelter, stop your performance and then go back. Yes, it was several times. Five or six times. And people also, audience go with us. We discuss, some musicians played bach sonatas for them, then come back and finish concert, and hearts together. Many of these musicians have lost relatives to the war, and two are fighting on the front line. So theyre not all here at cardiffs hoddinott hall. But those who are say they have a role in reminding people theres more to their country than the conflict. And some, like harpist veronica, have close links with wales. Its a very important tour and we are really honoured to represent ukraine and ukrainian culture and we are really grateful for support to the all people. And actually my mum, shes a refugee in wales living here and i know really good persons, they have huge support, as in how kind people are here. So how has your mother found the whole process of coming to wales and making a new life for herself in wales . It was thanks to our harp friends. They became our sponsor and really helped my family to set up also my cousins here they are now attending school near bangor. And veronicas mother is here to see her daughter perform. I used to go to all her concerts and to be together, in the competition, something else. But now its part of our family in the different part of ukraine and countries, and now we use all opportunity to see each other. Also in the audience, those who want to show their solidarity. Im ukrainian and ive been doing everything i can, you know, since the war to try to support in any way we can, you know, because the war is still going on, theres still horrible, horrible things happening. Were a small part of our country, our state of ukraine, but we feel this real support and its very, very much important for us. Over the next two weeks, these world class musicians will be delighting audiences across the uk before returning to a homeland still at war. Lets take a look at todays papers. The guardian leads with a plea by the United Nations Secretary General antonio guterres, who has called for an immediate ceasefire in gaza to end what he calls epic suffering. The daily mail focuses on israels angry response to those comments, with israels ambassador to the un calling for mr guterres to resign. The sun features an image of yosheved lifshitz, who was held captive by hamas for more than two weeks. The paper carries comments from the 85 year old, who described the experience as a nightmare. And the metro reports on the sinking of a british flagged cargo ship, the verity, following a collision with a larger ship off germanys north sea coast, which claimed the life of at least one sailor. Rescuers say they are hopeful a further four missing crew members will be found alive. Were talking about scams this morning. Theyre on the increase, with half a billion pounds stolen in the first half of this year alone. Ben has the details. Ben, this can happen to anyone, cant it . Yes, it really can, and thats important to remember because often people can feel a bit foolish when it happens to them. But you shouldnt, because the scale of fraud, particularly online has been revealed with new figures showing just shy of £600 million has been lost to fraudulent activities between january and june this year. Believe it or not, that is a slight decrease from last year. But there has been a surge of more than a fifth of so called authorised push Payment Fraud thats when you are tricked into making a payment by someone pretending to be a company or individual. Three quarters of those crimes begin online and through social media common scams occur through things like Online Dating apps, with criminals posing as potential partners. And of course its not just the financial loss that is so damaging to people its the emotional toll too, the sense of shame which means, according to new research from trading standards, only a third of fraud crimes are reported. They say people have nothing to be ashamed about and should be able to report scams as they would any other crime. 0rganised crime groups target people specifically and they have a huge amount of resources to be able to diversify, manipulate, push us into a hot state and make decisions we wouldnt normally make. It is extremely clever and there are billions of people scanned every year and we need to ensure that we share those stories and realise there is a scam out there for everybody. We spoke tojerry from norfolk he was defrauded of £1,200 via a phone scam. I had a phone call about 6 30 purporting to be from this fraud department. And i was totally gullible and i was taken in because. Everything they knew bank account details, they knew everything about me, they knew my home number, they knew my mobile number, so i was completely taken in. So wed like to hear from you today get in touch if youve ever been victim to a scam and how it made you feel when you realised what had happened. We will go through what you can do and what your rights are later in the programme. Ben and sally, really important to stress again that sadly this can happen to anyone and if you do feel youve been scammed, please report it. It is increasingly devious in how they get people to hand over money. If you fall victim to it, do not be afraid to report it. Still to come on todays programme. Some motivational therapy from one of hollywoods biggest stars. Dont think just go and exercise. And after youre through with your exercising and your cycle riding or Bicycle Riding or running or whatever you do for exercise, then after that, you start thinking. What brilliant advice. Dont think i love it. The one and only Arnold Schwarzenegger has been speaking to us about the secrets to a successful life and the mistakes hes made along the way. Kindergarten cop is still one of his best films. It made him a lot of money. Quite happy about it. Ive been dying to save us all morning, well be back. Good morning from bbc london, im alison earle. A woman who was conned out of thousands of pounds through a phone scam is warning others to be vigilant. Frederika was told by fraudsters that her Bank Accounts had been hacked and she needed to move her money to a safe place. It was only after transferring the funds that she realised shed been tricked. Shes now more cautious of receiving calls out of the blue. My whole world collapsed, quite clearly. Ive worked very hard in life to achieve what i need to achieve. And itsjust going out, not trusting anybody around me, people talking to me. Im not picking up the phone any more, im not answering e mails from banks or anybody. It isjust meaning i need to check everything. You can hear that story in full on bbc london this evening at 6. 30. A report has found Thames Valley police lost opportunities in how they dealt with an off Duty Police Officer who went on to commit a child sexual offence. Heres kate kinsella. Good morning. Its a rather damp start for many of us this morning. Weve had some rain overnight. Weve still got some around this morning. The met office has a yellow Weather Warning in place for the heavy rain. Thats valid until 10 oclock. But you can see its slowly moving away south and eastwards. Becoming drier, the cloud breaking, some sunny spells this afternoon and temperatures reaching around 14 celsius. Into this evening, overnight starts off dry. A few clear spells around thats where well get our coldest temperatures. But the cloud will increase through the night and, with that, the showers will start to move through, as well. They could be heavy, you might get a rumble of thunder. Temperatures dropping down to potentially 5c. So for tomorrow, the low pressure to the west, still, driving the showers through in the morning. But they will clear away eastwards. Again, some sunny spells developing, but fairly frequent showers through tomorrow afternoon. Again, they could be heavy, you might get a rumble of thunder, and temperatures tomorrow at around 15 celsius. Now its looking a little drier for saturday, still cant rule out a shower, but then rain returns as we head through sunday. Now the sport. Always going to be an emotional night. Manchester uniteds first game since the death of sir Bobby Charlton. We saw a reef being laid. Tributes before kick off and plenty of drama after it. United coming together to pay tribute to sir Bobby Charlton before Recording Theirfirst Champions League win of the season. Katie gornall reports. Sir Bobby Charlton was at the heart of everything for Manchester United. His loss has been met with an outpouring of affection as thousands from across generations gathered here to remember a footballing icon and a gentleman. He greeted you with warmth and bobby, obviously, was a great goal scorer, a great ambassador, a great captain, not only for Manchester United, but when he played for england, as well. For the clubs supporters, he was without equal. We love sir Bobby Charlton and tonight is going to be really, really emotional. So were holding it together so far. They say that nothing lasts for ever and that no one can live for ever, but sir bobby will. Inside, in front of the stand named after him, there were more tributes and, once the music ended, old trafford fell silent. The task now was for united to harness this emotion. But against copenhagen, they struggled and relied on the reflexes of andre 0nana to keep them in it. In search of inspiration, united had sent on christian eriksen, only to be denied by the man in the mask. Frustration was building. United had lost their first two games in this group. This had been described as a must win. Enter Harry Maguire. His first goal of the season and what a time to score it. But there was still time for one dramatic twist. This high boot from Scott Mctominay meant penalty. The game now hinged on one final kick, and 0nana proved to be uniteds hero earning his side a vital and emotional three points. For two of the most criticised players in uniteds squad, this felt like redemption. Katie gornall, bbc news, manchester. What a night for them. Gabrieljesus was outstanding for arsenal in their 2 1 win away to seville, which takes them to the top of their group. He was the difference in a tight game. He got what proved to be the winner for real madrid as they beat portuguese side braga 2 1. And has now scored in every round. What a start. Leicester city are enjoying life in the championship, although they clearly want to get straight back out of it after relegation last season. They beat sunderland 1 0 jamesjustin with the goal to make it 12 wins out of 13, which is the best start for a team in that division. Theyre eight points clear at the top of the table. Tributes have been paid to the everton chairman Bill Kenwright who has died at the age of 78. Legendary everton goalkeeper Neville Southall said rip Bill Kenwright. A sad day when any blue dies and must be respected. An end of an era. Wayne rooney, who came through the club as a youngster, said devastated to hear the sad news about Bill Kenwright. Known bill since i was young and hes had a huge impact on me as a person and my career. Great man and a big inspiration. The clubs city rivals said rest in peace, Bill Kenwright. The thoughts of everyone at liverpool fc are with bills family, friends and everyone at everton. England test cricket captain ben stokes is still committed to playing for his country, despite turning down a three year central contract. Hes opted instead for a one year extension but the ecbs Managing Director rob key says stokes is expected to negotiate a longer deal next year, when a new cycle of broadcast rights starts. Joe root is among those who have signed three year contracts. You might remember the three just stop 0il protesters who briefly stopped play during the ashes test at lords this summer, who have been sentenced to a 12 Month Community order. It includes a ban from lords. They must carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and pay legal costs. If youve tried to catch a bus in a rural area recently particularly since the pandemic you may not be surprised to know that services in the countryside are at an historic low. Thats the damning verdict of the County Councils network, which represents rural authorities in england. They say that more than one in every four bus services has vanished over the past decade, and there were 344 million fewer journeys in 2022 than in 2010, as a result of reduced services. The analysis also shows that councils in rural and county areas have a £420 million shortfall in their local transport budgets. What is on the increase is bookable services, typically a minibus, which only operate when and where users have requested them. Transport correspondent katy austin spent the day on a so called demand Response Service in wiltshire. Mid morning in pewsey in wiltshire. Driver andy is on the move. But this isnt a bus or a taxi, its something in between. Theres no fixed timetable, and passengers have to pre book their journey. Morning. All right . Yeah. Likejulie, whos been using it every day for three weeks to visit her husband in hospital. I dont drive, so its the only way ive got of getting to the hospital each day and each evening. I really dont know what id do without it, yeah. On this journey, stops included the hospital, a Railway Station and a supermarket. Thank you very much. Bye for now, see you again. All our bookings are done either on an app or phone bookings. So the route literally is dictated by how many people have booked on that day . Exactly right. We do not know from the moment you get on the bus to the moment you get off how your whole day is going to run. Every day is different and every passenger is different. We have from schoolchildren right the way through. This morning, we had a gentleman who was in his 90s. For most people on board, this is the only option for getting around. This Service Started in the summer, funded by a pot of money from central government. A change of driver and were on to the afternoon shift. Rosie got on in devizes town centre. Ive been doing some shopping. Yes, i mean, ive started my christmas shopping, you see. A beautiful sunny day, but, yes, everywhere tells you start now, get ahead. It keeps everybody in the villages sort of in touch with whats going on. Because i can be quite flexible about going out for fun, then it works very well. You just have to check on the times that the buses are running and fit yourself around then. I think if you were going out for an appointment, you would probably have to plan ahead a bit more. Philip, who has kept a close eye on Transport Options round here for years, says this is better than nothing. But some issues need ironing out. For example, with the availability of time slots and the booking technology. I think its good. You know, ive got no problem with it, but its got to be more accessible for people that perhaps are a little bit unsure. In many more rural parts of the country, its become increasingly difficult for traditional commercial bus routes to make enough money to keep going. A group that speaks for county and Rural Councils across england says three quarters are now rolling out so called demand responsive transport like this, often to fill gaps left by bus services disappearing. It says these are useful but arent a substitute, and they re mostly loss making. Most councils will only be able to operate these long term if there is continuing subsidy from government. The government have provided some money over the last couple of years and for the next couple of years. But we need kind of a long term, sustainable funding solution. The Department For Transport says more than £3. 5 billion has gone in to supporting and improving buses since the start of the pandemic and its making millions more available for councils to bring in bookable Services Like this. Here, there have been some bumps in the road, but people are getting used to a different way of getting from a to b. Katy austin, bbc news, in wiltshire. That was katy austin reporting. Let us know about the bus services where you are. It capped the hit and miss. Do you have a similar bookable service in your area . The Contact Details are on screen now you can get in touch by whatsapp, email or social media. Heres carol. You promised a longer Weather Forecast. I think there is a hint behind her of what is to come. Good morning. The met office have in the past half hour issued an Amber Weather Warning for heavy rain affecting South Hampshire and also the Isle Of Wight. 0vernight on the Isle Of Wight, we had 60 70 millimetres of rain and across parts of east dorset and other parts of South Hampshire we have had 35 40 millimetres so quite the deluge. That is not what we asked for and we send it back, get a refund . British summer time ends this weekend and dont we know it . Gone already. Thank you. Never mind the weather. He might be able to get us through the bad weather. This next person. Because. We need to explain that. You can see what we are talking about. When it comes to getting yourself a life coach, you could do worse than someone who has been a hollywood megastar, a leading politician, and the most muscular man in the universe. Were talking, of course, about Arnold Schwarzenegger. Hes written a book filled with advice on how to be successful and hes been sharing some words of wisdom with our entertainment correspondent colin paterson. Arnold schwarzenegger, you will see the bbc has sent along its muscliest correspondent to interview you. When you see a body like mine, what do you feel, is it pretty or do you see potential . Extraordinary. Its unbelievable. Im just amazed about your deltoids. My what . And the pectoral muscles. Hmm. And the arms, the triceps. The biceps, the brachioradialis. And the abdominals. Its really amazing how you can cover it all up with a simple shirt. I mean if people would just know what is underneath this shirt. Its like unbelievable. Really amazing, so im glad that they sent you. I think im blushing. I cant believe it. Yeah, yeah. We are in the very strange situation, because of the actors strike, we cant talk about your movies. Does this mean i have to do your catchphrases today . Whats the rules there . You can go and say, get to the chopper you can say, ill be back. Ill be back. Im very happy that i have had a great movie career. Im very happy that i have done some great Action Movies and that i was able, because one of the rules that i talk about in the book is dont listen to the naysayers. So when they said to me you would never be a comedy star. Twins. I said i want to be a comedy star i think i have a sense of humour. I think i can do it. They said no, were not that crazy, were not going to go and invest money in something we dont know about. We know that youre making a lot of money at the box office for your huge Action Movies and Science Fiction movies, Futuristic Movies thats what we invest in. And then, luckily, i had someone again, someone that helped me, ivan reitman that decided that he can develop a project called twins. My name isjulius, and im your twin brother. 0h, obviously. The moment i sat down, i thought i was looking into a mirror. Were not identical twins. Oh, no . No. Well, i wouldnt be too sure, pal. Those Comedy Movies made more money than the Action Movies. Youre here to talk about your book be useful. And it is getting great reviews in unexpected places. The Guardian Newspaper is not known, normally, for its love of republican politicians, and they say that it is the Improvement Guide that actually works. Fantastic. Well, i tell you that we have had the most unbelievable response and reaction to the book and its one of those things that i did not dream of to be a motivational speaker or to write motivational books or anything like that. Because when i grew up, all i wished was just to be the most muscular man in the world and to get into movies and to make millions of dollars. And then, after that, a lot of new dreams came about and a lot of new kind of goals came about. And one of them was, you know, i found out that people really needed to be motivated and people were looking to me for answers and they admired what i have accomplished. And so i saw there an opening and i saw there a need and i started developing that. And thats how this book came about. And you speak in the book about lows that youve had and how you came back from them. There will be people watching this programme this morning in dreadful situations in their life. How did you come back from your lows . Well, i want to mention that, because its very important. Because so many times people read about my successes. They read about the movies that made hundreds of millions of dollars. And they read that i won the governorship and ran the fifth largest economy in the world. And how did arnold do all that and how did he become the greatest body builder of all times and all that stuff . Thats all true. But, i mean, on the way to get there, there were tremendous defeats and there were tremendous losses. One thing youre never going to be able to do is become us president , because you have to be born in the united states. How much of an annoyance is that to you . You know, its not, really, because i feel like i would make a great president. But i feel, at the same time, that everything that ive accomplished was because of america. So the only thing that it cant do, which is run for president , im not so the only thing that i cant do, which is run for president , im not going to complain about that. In the 80s, you had these stars who could open films from their names schwarzenegger, stallone, van damme, bruce willis. We dont get that nowadays. Why is that . Well, i hope that my son in law, chris pratt, doesnt hear that. What . exactly. But youre right. Its, i think, because the stars being developed today, its much more based on the franchise. Listen, people around britain will be waking up. This could be the first thing they see. Can you give them one bit of advice for this day . If you wake up, dont think. Just go and exercise. And after youre through with your exercising Bicycle Riding or running, whatever you do for exercise, then after that, you start thinking. Arnold schwarzenegger, thank you very much. Thank you. 0w, ow, ow oh, wow. Love that. Hes still got it. If you are going to take life advice from anyone, i would take it from him. Really great interview and more later in the programme. Now, International Calls are mounting for a humanitarian pause in fighting, with the us, proposing a temporary lull in hostilities, short of a formal ceasefire. And while israels war with hamas is raging, there are other fronts heating up. Last night on social media they released pictures showing that fuel was already in gaza, they showed to these big Storage Tanks and said there is already fuelled there but hamas are keeping away from the civilian population, not sharing it with those who need it. That is israels main reason why they are allowing in things like food, water and medication in smaller amounts, things the Un Aid Agency say they need, and that is why there are continuing calls for it more aid, but israel are firm that while they believe that there is fuel inside and that it could be used to attack israel they will not allow it to through the rafah crossing. That has generally held here In Westminster among the labour party for the past few weeks but there are signs that it might be beginning to fray. The reason for thatis beginning to fray. The reason for that is an interview keir starmer gave a couple of weeks ago in which he appeared to suggest he believed israel had the right to cut off fuel and water from gaza. Israel had the right to cut off fuel and waterfrom gaza. Now Keir Starmers people say he didnt mean to say that, he thought he was answering a different question, he has been consistent that he believes fuel and water should reach the people in gaza. This meeting is an attempt by keir starmer to try to reassure muslim voters, muslim mps, labour mps representing communities with large numbers of muslims, about his position, but it is looking a bit difficult for him. Exam resits are taking place next month and an extra 60,000 pupils will be having another go at their english and maths gcse. Demand is so high that some schools and colleges in england say theyre hiring external exam halls to fit everyone in. 0ur Education Correspondent Hazel Shearing reports. I got my papers back, kind of looked through and sort of figuring out what i need to work on. Two weeks to go. Angles and ratios are probably things im struggling on the most. Hayden has a lot of numbers to crunch. His gcse maths exams didnt quite go to plan this summer. I was hoping for a pass because i had lots of revision building up to it, but when i got a three i wasnt too disappointed because in my mocks, which is just before, i got a one. Hes hoping the extra Revision Sessions at Leeds City College will help him get that all important grade four in his resit a pass. People should have a pass in maths because you know, its just that extra gcse which can help with getting jobs in the future and, you know, its a skill you need throughout life. What is alliteration . Hayden is one of a growing number of College Students dividing their time between their courses and compulsory english and maths resit lessons like these. Class sizes have grown and staff rooms will be drafted in as makeshift exam halls next month. Close to 4000 students are taking either english or maths this year, which is a huge amount of students that havent got that expected level of maths and english. Weve managed to absorb it. Next year we are really going to struggle with having enough rooms and of teachers. Part of the increase is down to population growth, but theres another reason too. This summer, grades in england were brought back down to be in line with pre covid levels. The knock on impact of that is that tens of thousands more students didnt pass gcse maths and english. The knock on impact of that is that there are more students at colleges like this one taking compulsory resits. What were seeing is a greater increase than we had anticipated. So there has been some additional funding to account for that increase, but it in no way meets the needs of all the additional students. The government says its investing extra money in colleges over the next two years, and plans for a new qualification would mean all young people studying some english and maths to 18. Most resit students at this college take their exams in the summer. Staff say getting ready for them is like a military operation. Its a little overwhelming having to redo it because you think this is bad because i got a low score, but at least there was a score that you got. I think the fact we have to resit is good because it will make you more confident if you pass it this time. This time will for these students hopefully be the last. Hazel shearing, bbc news. From Coronation Street to goodison park, via broadway and the west end, he appeared to be living several boyhood dreams, and loving it. Vincent mcaviney has been looking back at his life. So what you want to do . A nice cup of coffee, game of matchbox rugby. Shall i read your fortune in the tea leaves . A young Bill Kenwright had his first brush with Fame Playing Gordon Clegg on the cobbles of Coronation Street in 1968. Stop going on about it. No ones going to pinch the shop just because were in here. A plum role for an aspiring actor. But he stayed only a year, returning occasionally for Guest Appearances over the decades, for it was a career in showbiz off camera where he made his fortune. Kenwright became one of the uks most successful Theatre Producers, best known for long Running Hits Likejoseph and Blood Brothers. Can we go again from ive got a message . Kenwright was prolific, winning multiple awards over six decades for his west end, broadway, uk and International Touring productions. Hes credited with helping to start the careers of many current west end producers and is estimated to have employed more actors in many years than any employer besides the bbc. His Stage Business gave him the platform to get involved with the Football Club he loved as a boy in wavertree, liverpool. In 1989, he went from treading the boards to a seat on the board of everton before becoming chairman in 2004, having spent £20 million to become the clubs majority shareholder. Nothing ive ever done compares to this. But if i could be one of the people that actually made those everton fans smile again the way weve done in the 60s and 70s and 80s and brought a joy as we go into the millennium, ill sleep good at night. Though he didnt manage to bring silverware to goodison park, over 19 seasons the club did enjoy securing 12 top eight finishes, including a top four finish in 2005. Earlier this month, everton announced kenwright had undergone a Successful Operation to remove a Cancerous Tumorfrom his liver, but required a prolonged period in intensive care. However, he passed away on monday, peacefully, surrounded by his family and loved ones, aged 78. Tributes have been flowing in for kenwright, with actress Elaine Page Tweeting she was in mourning for a Tour De Force of theatre worldwide. Linda nolan, who he cast in Blood Brothers, said the role changed my life. Thank you for everything, rip, bill, you will never be forgotten. While sir ian mckellen, whos currently starring in one of his productions, said whether the west end lights will be turned off in his memory, certainly our business will be dimmer now. He has gone. Survived by his partner, actress jenny seagrove, daughter lucy, and two grandchildren, Bill Kenwright proved passions for football and Performing Arts can play well together. 0ne family who know all about Bill Kenwright s generosity and his love of everton are the nuttalls. Laura nuttall died earlier this year, aged 23, from a brain tumour. Her mum nicola posted this message on social media last night. Lauras mum nicola joins us now from lancashire. A woman who was conned out of thousands of pounds through a phone scam is warning others to be vigilant. Frederike was told by fraudsters that her Bank Accounts had been hacked and needed to move her money to a safe place. It was only after transferring the funds that she realised shed been tricked. A report has found Thames Valley police lost opportunities in how they dealt with an off Duty Police Officer who went on to commit a child sexual offence. His majestys inspectorate of constabulary found at least five instances where the force could have taken stricter action against luke horner that could have led to him being dismissed. Thames Valley Police says changes have now been made to the vetting process. New facial Recognition Technology is being rolled out for the first time in southend. Essex police will be using high tech cameras to help identify criminals they say pose the greatest risk to the area. But concerns have been raised with some calling it an invasion of privacy. Theres more on our website and social media, including the boxing bishop of edmonton. Thats it for now, im back in half an hour. Hello, this is breakfast with ben thompson and sally nugent. The uks £8 million daily bill for housing Asylum Seekers in hotels should begin to fall by the start of next year, after the government announced plans to cut the number of hotels it uses. The immigration minister Robert Jenrick can tell us more he joins us from westminster. Jenrick can tell us more how jenrick can tell us more are you going to do this . Morning. How are you going to do this . Good morning. When i took on the role a year ago, morning. When i took on the role a yearago, i morning. When i took on the role a year ago, i was clear the use of hotels to house Asylum Seekers, Illegal Migrants, was wrong and unacceptable. Hotels should be used by businesses and communities are members of the public for weddings and birthdays and all the things we care about in life, they should not be housing Asylum Seekers at a huge cost of the taxpayer. As a result of good work in progress we have made in standing up cheaper and more appropriate forms of accommodation, and the fact the first time in four years there is a reduction of the number of people coming across on small boats, we can begin closing those hotels and returning them to community use. The first hotels will close in the coming days, with 50 closing byjanuary close in the coming days, with 50 closing by january and close in the coming days, with 50 closing byjanuary and more to follow if we make progress in stopping the boats. Clearly this is the beginning. There is a long way to go but we are making progress. Labours shadow immigration minister says you are planning to close 12 of hotels in use. How long will it take for further hotels to be closed . ,. ,. , closed . Very soon, the list we announced closed . Very soon, the list we announced yesterday closed . Very soon, the list we announced yesterday is closed . Very soon, the list we announced yesterday is just i closed . Very soon, the list we | announced yesterday is just the first 15. We will make further tranches in the weeks and months ahead. How soon . It will depend on our continued success in reducing the number of people crossing the channel and if we do, within weeks we will come forward with further tranches. Let me be clear, i want to close all hotels. It is not acceptable, it is a waste of taxpayers money and as quickly as we can close them we will do. What we can close them we will do. What will happen we can close them we will do. What will happen to we can close them we will do. What will happen to those we can close them we will do. What will happen to those people . Local Government Association said many people granted Refugee Status will likely present is homeless to local authorities and it will be the local authority that has to house them, perhaps ironically back in a hotel. The first thing we are doing is standing up cheaper and more appropriate forms of accommodation so instead of being housed sometimes in luxurious hotels, they will be housed in disused military sites, on barges like in portland, and in low cost, decent but not luxurious forms of housing elsewhere in the country. The numbers that crossed in small boats in the past couple of years has been high which put pressure on the asylum system, as it did in every other european country, but as a result of the new forms of accommodation and the reduction in the number coming across, we can make this change. The important thing to note is if people are refused an asylum claim, we want to get them out of the country because they have no right to be here. The number removed from the country for those grounds has risen by 75 in the past year. The sooner we make an asylum decision, if they are rejected, we want to get them out of the country say they are not a burden on taxpayers. Brute the country say they are not a burden on taxpayers. The backlog is falling which is important because we want an efficient and fair asylum system. It is not the sustainable answer. Some people like the Labour Party Think you can grant your way out of the problem. You have to use have a deterrent to stop people coming which is why we have created the rwanda policy being considered by the Supreme Court and that will break the Business Model of people smuggling gangs because it says to people if you risk your life, your life savings to come over on the small boat, you are almost certain to be sent back, including to rwanda, via a safe third country. I think we will see the people crossing in small boats, when we have stood up the policy, we have seen the deterrent work. With the albanian policy we are returning people swiftly back to albania and we have seen a 90 reduction in the number of albanians crossing in small boats this year which has contributed to the significant fall in numbers overall. We want to stop the boats in their entirety but we are making progress. We can talk tojohn. Tributes for Bobby Charlton. An emotional night at old trafford, the first home game Manchester United played since the death of sir Bobby Charlton. It was amazing. Very special and emotional. Eric10 hag it was amazing. Very special and emotional. Eric 10 hag laid a wreath in the centre circle. And aretha laid in the seat he used to sit in in the directors box. United backing it up with important win. If 0nana and maguire were uniteds heroes. Were uniteds heroes it was gabrieljesus for arsenal against sevilla. He was the difference in a tight game. Girst playing a brilliant through ball for Gabriel Martinelli who still had plenty to do before scoring arsenals opener before then scoring himself, with a brilliant strike, and that moves arsenal to the top of their group. He came in for a reason. He changed our world. He came in for a reason. He changed ourworld. He he came in for a reason. He changed our world. He brings energy to the team. This is when the player is important for the team. When you have a player like this, you want to go to Manchester City, stamford bridge, the next coming here, that is the level we are at right now. The holders Manchester City are in switzerland to face young boys on the back of two wins in the competition so far. Had their game faces on when pep speaks you listen theyve travelled early to get a feel for the artificial pitch they dont usually train away from home but theyve made an exception in this case, so the players can get used to the surface. No wonder eddie howe is smiling the newcastle manager pulling off one of the wins of his career, beating Kylian Mbappes Paris Saint Germain last time out. But as they prepare to face Borussia Dortmund tonight, he says its time to move on from that brilliant win. We need to forget psg, take the confidence from it but forget it and try to create that atmosphere all over again. Try to create that atmosphere all overagain. For us, try to try to create that atmosphere all over again. For us, try to recreate energy and intensity levels and quality of our play. Celtic are looking for their First Group Stage win in the competition for ten years they host Atletico Madrid tonight but theyre yet to pick up a point in this seasons campaign. England test cricket captain ben stokes is still committed to playing for his country, despite turning down a three year central contract. Hes opted instead for a one year extension but hes expected to negotiate a longer deal next year, when a new cycle of talks over broadcast rights starts. There has been some flooding in places, and there is dense fog in northern england, the midlands, east wales, east anglia and lincolnshire. All the details later. There are now growing International Calls for a humanitarian pause in the fighting to allow aid to reach gazas residents. Our middle east correspondent Yolande Knell has the latest. If we do not get fuel by tonight we will have to halt our operations and that will impact at least 600,000 people sheltering in 150 of our schools and other buildings. Theres been a big jump in the death toll, with official palestinian figures showing many hundreds killed in the past 24 hours. At the un, the Secretary General, antonio guterres, said the bombardment and blockade of gaza violated international law, as did the use of civilians as Human Shields by hamas. I am deeply concerned about the clear violations of International Humanitarian law that we are witnessing in gaza. Let me be clear no party to an Armed Conflict is above International Humanitarian law. But diplomatic efforts continue. Now, International Calls are mounting for a humanitarian pause in fighting, with the us proposing a temporary lull in hostilities, short of a formal ceasefire. Our middle east correspondent tom batemanjoins us now from south israel. Israel and egypt for 16 years have had a tight blockade of the gaza strip, controlling much of what is going in and out. Since the start of hostilities, israel said it would impose a complete siege around gaza and the Energy Minister said nothing would go in or out until the hostages were freed by hamas. What we have seen since saturday as some aid trucks being allowed to cross the rafah crossing between egypt and israel, extremely limited, a small number of what is needed for the desperate humanitarian situation in gaza. The trucks contained food, water and medicines but critically not fuel, because israel says it thinks that would be stolen or exploited by hamas. The United Nations agency which provides services to palestinians say the fuel is critically needed to fuel their own humanitarian operation, for bakeries to provide braid for people, and waterfilter for bakeries to provide braid for people, and water filter systems, people, and water filter systems, people reduced to drinking dirty water from wells, people reduced to drinking dirty waterfrom wells, drinking people reduced to drinking dirty water from wells, drinking sea water, there is a huge risk to peoples health, so they need the fuel for the humanitarian aid. He accused hamas of using civilians as Human Shields but the us has repeatedly called on israel to abide by what they call the laws of war, to respect civilian lives. There is an increasing coal for a pause in the fighting to allow a humanitarian corridor through rafah. I think it is pretty unlikely. We saw increased bombardment overnight by the israelis in south gaza, more sirens earlier here in ashkelon. Palestinians reporting the deadliest day in gaza so far yesterday. Un officials, who have been visiting hospitals in gaza, say there are now bodies of the dead, including children, simply being kept in tents outside hospitals because of the marks are full. The morgues are full. Our chief Political Correspondent Henry Zeffman joins us now. Henry, what can we expect from todays meeting . This all stems from an interview that keir starmer gave a couple of weeks ago in which he appeared to suggest he believed israel had the right to cut off fuel and electricity, water and electricity from gaza. Keir starmer now says he didnt mean to say that, he thought he was answering a different question, he points out that every time he had spoken about the issue in the house of commons he has called for humanitarian aid to the people of gaza. But in the weeks since he gave that interview, clips have ricocheted around social media, Whatsapp Groups and so on, and the anger only seems to intensify. I think the row about this visit to an Islamic Centre in south wales is symptomatic to that. He visited, he tweeted about the visit he conducted, then it is very clear from the statement from the Islamic Centre that a lot of their members were furious that they had hosted keir starmer. If you bring that to parliament, labour mps are concerned that they are hearing the same fury and concern and anger from their constituents and i think that is what this meeting will be about, keir starmer trying to reassure them about his position and his ability to contain this frustration. But it is a bit tense and it is a tricky one for keir starmer. A search is ongoing for four people who are missing after a british cargo ship sank in the north sea, near the german coast. As it stands they can receive no more than double their basic salary. Ben can tell us more. Ben, whats behind this move . The cap on bankers bonuses is being removed from the end of this month in a post brexit shake up of financial rules. Labour has spoken out against this move, while the leader of the trade Union Congress has called it obscene. Some bankers will be pleased that they can now get bigger bonuses. But some will prefer the Current System which meant a more reliable income. Thats because over the last decade banks increased basic salaries instead to make sure they could still compete with the likes of new york and singapore in attracting the top talent. A decade on, and a new report by the nhs ombudsman has found that Hospital Failings are still leading to too many deaths from sepsis. Our Health Correspondent, Dominic Hughes has more. Every year in the uk there are around 48,000 deaths from sepsis, many of them preventable. In 2021, 13 year old martha mills died after hospital staff failed to correctly act on the Warning Signs of the illness. One year old william mead died in 2014 after his mums concerns were dismissed by doctors. It isjust meaning i need to check everything. You can see that story in full on bbc london this evening at 6. 30. Time for the weather. Good morning. Its a rather damp start for many of us this morning. Weve had some rain overnight. Weve still got some around this morning. The met office has a yellow Weather Warning in place for the heavy rain. Thats valid until 10 oclock. But you can see its slowly moving away south and eastwards. Becoming drier, the cloud breaking, some sunny spells this afternoon and temperatures reaching around 1a celsius. Theres more on our website and socials including the boxing bishop of edmonton. Thats it for now, im back in half an hour. Hello, this is breakfast with ben thompson and sally nugent. Were talking about scams this morning. Theyre on the increase, with half a billion pounds stolen in the first half of this year alone. Ben has the details. Awarning, it a warning, it can happen to anyone. It can because the scams are getting more sophisticated and it is important it can happen to anyone and not to be ashamed about coming forward if you have been scammed. It is because of the scale of fraud, particularly online is growing which is revealed with new figures showing almost £600 million has been lost abroad between january and june almost £600 million has been lost abroad between january and june this abroad betweenjanuary and june this year alone. Abroad between january and june this yearalone. Believe abroad between january and june this year alone. Believe it abroad betweenjanuary and june this year alone. Believe it or not, abroad between january and june this year alone. Believe it or not, that is a slight decrease from last year. But there has been a surge of more than a fifth of what is called authorised pushed Payment Fraud when you are tricked into making a payment by someone pretending to be a company. Three quarters of those crimes begin on latin and through social media with common scams being through Online Dating apps with criminals posing as potential partners. It is notjust financial loss. It is the emotional toll. The sense of shame. That means according to new research, barely a third of fraud crimes are reported. They say people have nothing to be ashamed about and should report scams as they would any other crime. Its organised crime groups, they target people specifically. They have a huge amount of resources at the end of their fingertips to be able to diversify, manipulate, push us into what is essentially a hot state to make us make decisions we wouldnt normally make. Its extremely clever and there are billions of people scammed every year and what we need to do is ensure that, again, we share those stories and realise there is a scam out there for everybody. Quite a few have been in touch. Dave said he scanned the qr code in a restaurant and joined what looked like the restaurants Wi Fi Network but it was a fake and scammers took control of his phone remotely and took money from his bank, and he thinks he lost £6,000. He said he works in it and he fell for that scam. Mark said he entered a genuine competition. Scammers messaged to say he had won and centrelink to claim the prize that would have required him to put his credit card details in supposedly to verify his identity. And another said they had someone on the phone claiming to be their son needing help and he said he lost his phone and send money to his friends account. They said they panicked and went along with it. They felt stupid after finding out they had been scammed. These people targeted our emotions. And then they described the scammers with a word i cannot use on television at this time of day. Were joined now by moneybox presenter Felicity Hannah ben mentioned two viewers concerns. Every fraud story is a painful thing to go through and those three different story showed fraudsters are like a virus. They mutate, get through defences and find new ways to target us and target people who think they might not fall victim to fraud. The most painful in those cases was the hello, mum scam. Get a message from a number you do not recognise, it is an urgent message, i am in trouble, my phone is broken, whatever the story is, and it provokes an emotional response and panic so you act fast and transfer cash. You want to help your child. Many work on that and make you feel you need to act quickly before you think about it. You need to act quickly before you think about it. There are giveaways. It feels perhaps someone was watching. Three other players really stood out last night gabrieljesus for arsenal in their win against sevilla. He was the difference in a tight game first playing a brilliant ball through to Gabriel Martinelli, to score arsenals opener, and then he scored himself, with a brilliant strike, although he did have to go off late on with a suspected hamstring injury. England captain harry kane took centre stage for Bayern Munich, he was on the score sheet again as they beat galatasaray 3 1 in instanbul. This morning, the met office has an Amber Weather Warning for rain, affecting parts of South Hampshire and the Isle Of Wight. We have had torrential rain through the night and early hours of today. These top four figures are on the Isle Of Wight. Swanage in dorset, 32 millimetres. If you are travelling, take extra care. In addition, dense fog in northern england, eastern wales, midlands, lincolnshire, east anglia. Some will be slow to clear. It will remain cloudy across scotland and northern england. Into the midlands, wales and Northern Ireland, some are sunny skies. But we then have the next band of rain and strengthening wind. It will push steadily north east over already flooded areas as we go through the night. The showers behind and showers ahead. And beyond that, the Weather Forecast does remain unsettled. Very unsettled. Thanks. When it comes to getting yourself a life coach, yourself a life coach. Have you thought about that . You could do worse than someone who has been a hollywood megastar, a leading politician, and the most muscular man in the universe. You would never argue with his advice. When you see a body like mine, what do you feel, is it pretty what do you feel, is it pity or do you see potential . Extraordinary. Its unbelievable. Im just amazed about your deltoids. My what . And the pectoral muscles. Hmm hmm. And the arms the triceps, the biceps, the brachioradialis. And the abdominals. Its really amazing. And how you can cover it all up with a simple shirt. I mean if people would just know what is underneath this shirt. Its like unbelievable. Really amazing, so im glad that they sent you. I think im blushing. I cant believe it. Yeah, yeah. Were in the very strange situation, because of the actors strike, we cant talk about your movies. Oh, obviously. There will be people watching this program this morning in dreadful situations in their life. How did you come back from your lows . Well, i want to mention that, because its very important. Because so many times people read about my successes. They read about the movies that made hundreds of millions of dollars. And they read that i won the governorship and ran the fifth largest economy in the world. And how did arnold do all that and how did he become the greatest body builder of all times and all that stuff. Thats all true. But, i mean, on the way to get there, there were tremendous defeats and there were tremendous losses. Is self help a dirty word at all . Well, i think that we need a combination of helping ourselves, being motivated ourselves, but also to get help from the outside. 5. 8 Million People voted for me. So these 5. 8 Million People did help me become governor, so how can i call myself a self made man . Its bogus, doesnt exist. So this is why i want to explain in the book that we all need help and we should reach out for help. And as soon as you realise that, then you also recognise the fact that you also have got to help other people. And so i talk about that. And what did it take when i was beaten the first time in body building and i became second in the mr universe contest . You know, i was crying all night, devastated. I just went to america, didnt speak the language. I was alone over there. I was just beaten. I felt like a loser. And so i had to kind of come back from that. And i learned from those kind of mistakes and i learned from those kind of periods when i was on the ground. And i realised youre not a loser, you lost this competition. Losers stay down, but winners always get up. And even personal losses, you know, like my marriage, the mistakes that ive made, you have to recognise those mistakes. You have to be responsible for those mistakes. You cannot go and blame someone else for it. And i talk about that in the book you know, take responsibility, take ownership of those mistakes that youve made and learn from that and then come back and be a better person. One thing youre never going to be able to do is become us president , because you have to be born in the united states. How much of an annoyance is that to you . You know, its not, really, because i feel like i would make a great president. But i feel, at the same time, that everything that ive accomplished was because of america. So the only thing that i cant do, which is run for president , im not going to complain about that. Thank you. Ow, ow, ow oh, wow. Wow. He has still got it. He definitely still has it. I like the advice dont think, just exercise. If you are going to take advice from anyone, that is the man, that is the way to do it. He talks honestly about big mistakes he has made on how to rebuild and come back again. I will not accept Kindergarten Cop was a mistake. One of his best films. He says they are all great because they made money. Not at all intimidating. Youre watching bbc breakfast, its 8 59.
