Detailed description is 鰂魚涌站（Quarry Bay Station）是港鐵港島綫與將軍澳綫的轉車站，位於香港島東區鰂魚涌及寶馬山之間的地底，1985年5月31日啟用，承建商是保華建築有限公司。該站亦是最接近東區海底隧道的鐵路車站。鰂魚涌站是現時全港鐵系統中第四深的車站，深度達42米，僅次於香港大學站（深100米）、西營盤站（深80米）和金鐘站（深43米），不過此站兩個不相連的大堂均設於地面，是港島綫唯一將大堂設在地面的車站。車站設計由於車站設計時，尚未考慮到轉車的需要，故需要在興建東區海底隧道時，額外在下層加建2個月台及3條長短不一的通道連接本身的港島線月台及大堂。轉車客流路徑則比較迂迴，對乘客不便，到1997年才加建升降機，情況稍有改善。由於設計令往來大堂及將軍澳綫月台需時5分鐘，本站會於尾班車開出7分鐘前禁止乘客入閘，與其他車站的5分鐘不同。樓層大堂在港島綫初建成之時，鰂魚涌站地面已經有2個不相連的大堂，在寶馬山腳，分別位於英皇道近太古坊的東大堂及位於模範邨旁的西大堂。車站主要設施設在東大堂，包括車站控制室、休息室及3個員工洗手間等；而連接西大堂的C出入口建於模範里的盡頭，由於能挖掘的空間有限，該大堂僅能容納幾部售票機及出入閘機，恒生銀行小型辦事處、1個員工洗手間及一間清潔辦公室。入閘後，乘客需要經過一條長達百餘公尺的狹窄通道，再轉升降機或扶手梯才能前往月台層。該大堂在欣澳站未啟用前，曾是全香港面積最小的港鐵車站售票大堂。兩個大堂均設有客務中心。現時，鰂魚涌站內提供不同類型的商店供乘客購物或進食，例如有便利店、餅店及銀行等。由於港鐵的收費區是不能進食，因此大部份售賣食物均不會設在收費區內。此外，鰂魚涌站也有不少自助服務設施，包括自動櫃員機、自動售賣機、自動照相機等。往來東大堂的通道層設有「iCentre」免費上網服務設施供乘客瀏覽互聯網的內容。
