Detailed description is I specialize in bridal, special occasion alterations, dressmaking & restoration of existing dresses & gowns.
I also create heirloom pieces from gowns.
I understand the importance of looking & feeling good in your clothing.

I can perform the simplest of alterations to complete garment reconstruction.

I created my own wedding dress to echo a similar silhouette of my mother's gown from 1956.
My mother designed & created her own dress, long since remade into a cocktail dress after her wedding day.
I use vintage inspiration in much of my dressmaking.
I combine those elements & silhouettes with a classic approach to achieve my desired design.
I bring this love of vintage, and the classic feminine silhouette to my ZuZu's Petals dresses & studio..

I hold an MFA in Theatrical Costume Design from the University of Connecticut, & have worked as a professional stage costume designer, technician & historian since 1993.
My designs have appeared on New York City stages from Lincoln Center to off~Broadway at the Hudson Guild Theatre ~ American Globe Theatre & the Actor's Studio.
I have designed at regional theaters across the country such as, the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival ~ the Broward Center for the Arts ~ Connecticut Repertory Theatre & the Connecticut Opera.
My theatrical career has afforded me the opportunity to finely tune my craft ~ love of design ~ creativity & vision..
