„Born in Sofia, Bulgaria I began my formal training in Iconography whilst studying in a specialised school of Fine Arts.
My artworks are inspired by the mystical world of the Russian Orthodox Iconography.
This form of art has always intrigued me with its symbolic meaning, attention to detail, strict colour palette and compositions.
The writing of iconsrequires specific canonical rules, composition and colour, in order to recreate the image correctly..

Like exploring a new world, Iconography for me is a form of art that moves me spiritually to a different place of mind in the process of the work.
After my formal education, I began my Iconography journey by following an apprenticeship with an established Russian Iconographer.
I was able to acquire more in-depth skills and techniques that I was able to apply in my future work as a professional Iconographer.
In my professional practice, I have taken part in a number of restoration projects in Eastern Europe along with various commissions for local and foreign clients.
I was able to master my skills, by continuously working and improving the technique of writing an icon over years.
With my icon work I try to reveal not only the symbolic meaning of the image but also inviting the viewer to explore and appreciate the pure, visual sense of fine art and the beauty of the fresco.
