Casa construida en 1575 y restaurada en 1965, año en el que comienza su andadura como restaurante, regentado desde entonces por su fundador: Serafín Sagarzazu..

En las obras de restauración se encontró bajo los cimientos de la casa el esqueleto de una ballena cuyos huesos datan del año 1464.
(Datos obtenidos por análisis al carbono 14).
La ballena vino a morir a la playa, la casa todavía no estaba construida..

Se conserva el occipital de la ballena a la entrada del restaurante, que lleva por nombre Zeria (en referencia a la ballena, que en euskera local recibe este nombre)..
