Detailed description is I am a wife, a Mama of 2 lovely young children, and a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
I LOVE what I do.
I had the standard American diet growing up.
Meat, potatoes, Ramen, bologna and cheese sandwiches and sugary cereals.
I would also drink Kool-Aid on a daily basis.
This was the norm and we didn't realize how bad some of these foods were for us.
At the age of 7, I had my cholesterol checked and it was up to 388.
I was the youngest person at my doctor's office to ever be put on Lipitor, (a popular statin to manage cholesterol).
Fast forward into my early 20's, I lived in a very stressful and unhealthy relationship, due to lack of income in my household I ate very poorly and I dreaded going into work every day.
I developed Psoriasis which covered my entire scalp, knees and shins, elbows and inside my ears.
Despite taking cholesterol medication for all these years, my levels were still high, and I gained 60 lbs due to my first pregnancy.
Also, I started experiencing moderate to severe Panic attacks on a daily basis.
Eventually, I changed my life around, left my unhealthy relationship, left my job and moved myself and my daughter away to start a new life.
It was then that I met my wonderful husband, got a better job and became more financially stable.
I started putting better food into my body and really started paying attention to all my health issues.
My psoriasis started clearing up on its own to the point where I only had 5 small spots on my body plus my ears.
My Panic attacks were still around but not occurring on a daily basis anymore and I had decided to take myself off of cholesterol medication to try and lower it naturally..
I spent a LOT of time researching different diets trying to find out what diet is the best and most healthy one.
Like many people, I tried so many diets trying to lose my excess baby weight and keep myself and my family healthy.
I stressed about this all the time to the point where I almost obsessed about it.
Along came IIN.
The Institute for Integrative Nutrition has taught me so much about nutrition and how it's more than just the food we put into our bodies that keeps us healthy and whole.
In the time I spent at IIN, I have made so much progress on my panic attacks, psoriasis, and high cholesterol.
I have also made a significant change to my weight and the way I feel about myself and my body.
