Yhinmäen kylä mainitaan ensimmäisen kerran Novgorodin Vatjan viidenneksen verokirjassa vuonna 1499/1500.
Se oli tuolloin merkittävä raudantuotannon keskus..
Vuonna 1909 kylän lähelle ryhdyttiin rakentamaan Yhinmäen linnaketta.
Sinne perustettiin rannikkotykistöpatteri osaksi Pietarin kaupungin puolustusta.
Linnake otettiin käyttöön vuonna 1914.
Ensimmäisen maailmansodan taisteluihin se ei kuitenkaan osallistunut..
Vuonna 1919 linnakkeessa syttyi kapina, jonka bolševikit tukahduttivat..
