Detailed description is Die Würzburger Hofbräu steht schon seit 1643 für Spitzenqualität und höchsten Biergenuss und ist heute das beliebteste Bier Unterfrankens.
Unsere Brauerei hat eine reiche Tradition.
Gegründet wurde die Würzburger Hofbräu im Jahre 1643 von dem mainfränkischen Fürstbischof Johann Philipp von Schönborn und ist somit heute das älteste noch bestehende Unternehmen Würzburgs.
Die Idee, ein fürstliches Hofbrauhaus zu gründen, um die Männer mit gar köstlichem Bier zu versorgen und zu besänftigen, reifte in der Zeit des Dreißigjährigen Krieges, als die durstigen Soldaten nahezu alle Weinvorräte weggetrunken hatten.
In Erinnerung an den Gründer unseres Brauhauses ziert die Krone des Fürstbischofs auch heute noch den Brauerstern in unserem Firmenzeichen.
Auch der Slogan der Würzburger Hofbräu, "Genießen unter einem guten Stern", findet hier seinen Bezug.
