Detailed description is The Women's Art Collective was created by a group of women seeking supportive critique and creative inspiration for their artwork.
The Women’s Art Collective's residency, in the Open Studios space in the Americas Building in Downtown Hattiesburg from March 12 to April 30th, is an opportunity for us to discover, experience, and explore a “shared space” with each other, the community and women in general.
We hope to inspire and empower women to explore their own creative place through observing artists' work, participating in workshops and/or attending an art exhibit.
We hope to explore the possibilities of collaboration as well as the art of the “hand of the woman.” The Open Studios residency gives us an opportunity to giveback to our community while encouraging the community to recognize the work of women artists.
