Michael Wilson graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 2005.
After practicing for two years in New York City, it came to Dr.
Wilson's attention that there was a significant unmet need for dental care in upstate New York.
Many dentists are not willing to treat Medicaid patients, as low reimbursements and high no-show rates often accompany this demographic.

Wilson opened a practice in Binghamton in March 2008 to address this huge unmet need and increase access to care for an underserved population.
The practice grew to 14 doctors within two years.
In late 2010, Dr Wilson realized that Syracuse also needed more dentists willing to treat Medicaid patients after a patient had driven an hour down to Binghamton to receive specialty treatment at Wilson Dental.
