Artist Statement.
My art is inspired by nature and objects that I find interesting and fun to paint.
I enjoy painting landscapes and seascapes from photographs and also plein air (on site) in an impressionistic style; loosely and with visible brush strokes.
My recent vintage beach bike images are more graphic...
using a bold color palette.
How light reflects on water, the ever changing colors and shadows of wetlands, bay and sky gives me a wealth of subject matter close to my summer studio on LBI.
Local landmarks or icons of a community are also a recurring theme.
I want my work to elicit a memory or portray a mood for the viewer.

Linda (Cline) Ramsay was born in Philadelphia, Pa.
She attended Philadelphia College of Art and received a BA from Rutgers University and studied abroad.
Her works hang in private and public collections throughout the US and England.
She maintains studios in Wenonah, NJ and High Bar Harbor, Long Beach Island, NJ where she teaches and participates in local art shows.
