Detailed description is Housed in the former Sacred Heart Convent built in 1914, the Willow Bunch Museum is home to the Willow Bunch Giant, Edouard Beaupre, and to exhibits concerning local and aboriginal histories.
The Willow Bunch Museum is situated in Willow Bunch, SK, in a picturesque valley on No.
36 Highway.
It was established in 1972 by a group of university students under the leadership of Donald Philippon and Rose Giraudier.
The Project was made possible with the funding from "Opportunities for Youth – Program Grant"..

The collection of artifacts was first housed in a vacant hospital.
Within 15 years the museum collection outgrew the premises, and relocated to the former Sacred Heart Convent building owned by the French Cultural Association in 1985.
Today, the town of Willow Bunch owns the building and the museum grounds.

The Museum occupies two full floors of the building with history and artifacts donated by local and former residents.
It is constantly evolving, improving and expanding the existing displays, and adding new artifacts that complete the long history of the community.
Our exhibits focus on the following areas over several rooms: the Willow Bunch Giant (Edouard Beaupre), Pioneer Life, local family geneaologies, and local Metis and First Nations histories—including the story of Sitting Bull and our town's co-founder, Jean Louis Legare.

Our main season runs from May 15 to September 15 each year, however if you would like to see the museum outside of this time please call in advance and we will try to accomodate you..

We conduct tours in both English and French (if you would prefer a tour in French please call ahead), and we also offer special tours for school trips, etc.
