They had a belief that all children can learn and teachers should teach with high expectations so all students will improve.
With that in mind, they created White Pine Academy; a K-8 charter school located in Leslie, Michigan.
Their philosophy was simple; back to the basics with an emphasis on math and reading.
They researched the best math and reading curriculum offered and chose Saxon Math and Direct Instruction Reading.
