Detailed description is The West Jefferson County Historical Society is proud to announce the spring tour of pioneer homes.
The Society’s sole mission is to preserve these precious homes which are all located on Eastern Valley Road in McCalla, Alabama.
We feel that we are so very fortunate to have these homes that represent the history of our area.
We are proud of our homes and want to share them with the public.
All three homes will be open for the spring tour on April 21, 2013 from 2:00 p.m.
to 3:30 p.m.
For just a $10 donation (children under 12 admitted free with paying adult) there will be guided tours of the homes, live period music and civil war re-enactors.

The afternoon will be highlighted by an outdoor concert at 3:30 p.m.
on the lawn of the Owen House featuring Kenny and Suzy Spencer.
Kenny and Suzy are a musical duo from McCalla, Alabama known as “Fiddlin’ in the Parlor.” They are known for their wide repertoire of music playing the key board, fiddle and maybe even an Irish low whistle and penny whistle.
Their belief is that music is a universal language that has the power to speak to anyone who will open their heart..
