Waterville Supply LLC, heretofore known as WVS was officially founded on July 12, 2012.
But the story behind the formation of this company is a simple one and unfortunately all too common.

Several of us at WVS were once employees of a very proud and distinguished 90 year old New England based lumber wholesaler known as L.R.
McCoy.
Many would say they were once upon a time “the darlings of the industry”.
But unfortunately, we were a casualty of the great recession of ‘08…not unlike many others companies of similar stature to ours.
By late spring of 2012, most of us were relieved of our duties at McCoy and left to fend for ourselves.
Fortunately, McCoy was a great training ground for many of the industry’s top performing sales and administrative people.
Savvy business owners who competed with McCoy over the years were able to opportunistically recruit most of them with the exception of a small group who decided to strike out on their own..

Early summer of 2012, Korey, myself and one of our key Canadian mill suppliers met to discuss the feasibility of re-inventing the McCoy business model…but on a much smaller scale.
You know, there’s something funny, almost mystical about sitting on folding stadium seats, behind an SUV in the parking lot of a 7-11 in Waterville Maine, which stimulates tremendous brain wave activity.
And there the idea for WVS was born..

A long but exhilarating ride home filled with all these great new hopes and expectations for our fledgling company were now coming closer to reality.
A couple of calls to Beth, Luka and Gail, and voila, WVS was beyond a pipe dream, it was real, and it was tangible.
Shortly thereafter, Dick and Sheila became part of the WVS family, and then Faith.
Now we felt complete….and then it was off to the races!.
