We take pride in taking care of people, and of course, our customers.
We have been doing business as a family in Hope Mills since 1978.
For over 34 years our family businesses have been the epitome of the small "Mom and Pop' ventures across this great country.
All too often these businesses are a home away from home, if you will, where grandparents are partners with their adult children, who eventually rear another coming generation in the same confines of family influence and oversight.
Such is the origin and history of Warner and Son's.

Originally, my grandfather, Edward A.
Warner ("Pete") and his son Edward A.
Warner, Jr.
("Alex"), my father, became partners in retail furniture called Countryside Furniture Co.
of Hope Mills, NC.
Pete and grandmother Mae, along with my parents, Alex and Jackie welcomed me as the newest Warner, Edward, III (they tagged me with "Teddy") into the business in 1981.
My sister Molly was born shortly afterwards making the Warners' number now at six.
We were together every day at our homes, businesses, church, and social events.

Grandmother Mae and Granddaddy Pete passed on in 2004 and 2006, respectively- about the same time that Molly and I were graduating from N.C.State University.
My Dad, Alex, continued with the family furniture business and seemed surprised and pleased when I came home from graduation with an interest in becoming the "new" son in Warner and Son's.
My Dad was excited to learn that my sister Molly and I would be connected in the family businesses all over again..

In late 2006, I approached my Dad with the idea of expanding furniture sales to automobile sales.
(My granddaddy Pete had been in automobile sales for over 30 years prior to establishing our family furniture business.
Out of love and respect for my grandparents, I felt that adding an automobile business would honor them as well as my parents.).

After much thought and deliberation my Dad cautiously agreed to the expansion idea.
He admonished me and insisted that "we will NOT sell a vehicle that is not completely safe for your mother or sister to drive." With that, we slowly drove ourselves into the used-automobile business..

Any responsible dealer will tell you that, in most cases, an automobile is traded or auctioned for a reason.
Whatever the reason- mechanical problems, a fender bender, tires, brakes, etc.- it is the responsibility of the dealer to repair/prepare the vehicle for re-sale.
Thus far, we have been successful in providing "road worthy" used vehicles.
