Detailed description is A charity organization that makes afghans for the homeless in the Columbus, GA and Phenix City, Al area.
We meet the 4th Saturday of the month (Jan - Oct) from 10AM- 12N at Hobby Lobby in Columbus, GA (on Whittelsey Rd.) In Nov.
and Dec., we meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month.

We have a steady crowd of 15-20 people per meeting.

Some meetings consist of work (i.e.
putting afghans together or packing them for shipment to the local charities.) Some meetings are just more relaxed...we have refreshments, maybe learn a new stitch or project, or share ideas.

If you cannot make the meetings, but you would like to donate, you can leave your donated rectangles (or whole afghans if that is your preference) with the cashiers at Hobby Lobby.
They will get them to us.

We take any kind of knitted or crocheted donation, but if we could make a request: please make the rectangles 7x9 inches.

We donate to the following local charities: Valley Rescue Mission, Hope Harbour (Women's Shelter), Damascus Way (Women's Shelter), Phenix City Battered Women's Shelter, Columbus Hospice, Muscogee Manor (Nursing Home), Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home for Girls, House of Time, Tuskegee Veterans Home and Hospital and other assorted church homeless charities and nursing homes..
