An 8-year-old boy had a passion for B-25 Mitchell Bombers, some say he was genetically dispositioned to love aviation and its history.
Building models and catching airplane rides at the local airport were only the tip of the iceberg when nurturing his desire to be part of the aviation world.
This young boy was Patrick Mihalek, founder of The Warbirds of Glory Museum, who made his young dream a reality in July 2013, at the age of 29.

In July 2013, a team of volunteers, led by Patrick and his dear friend Todd Trainor, journeyed to Alaska to resurrect a B-25 Mitchell Bomber from a sand bar near Fairbanks.
This bomber was nicknamed by the locals as Sandbar Mitchell, and became the core entity of the dream restoration project for the museum and it’s youth mentorship program.
There was a time when Sandbar Mitchell graced the skies and this project will revive her to flight worthy status in the next 10 years.
