Filhos de famílias de lavradores, criadores de pequenos e médios animais e outras atividades rurais, Benedito Silvino de Camargo, o "Camarguinho" , e os irmãos Benedito José de Góes, o "Ditão" , e Roque José de Góes, o "Rocão", foram criados sob o mesmo teto.

Em meados da década de 20, quando o plantio da uva e a fabricação de vinhos começaram a ganhar força em São Roque, os três rapazes decidiram investir nessa área..

Unidos desde a infância e com muita vontade de prosperar, iniciaram o plantio de uvas nas terras de Canguera.
Em 1928, construíram a primeira adega, na época a maneira de se fazer vinho era totalmente artesanal, desde a utilização de carros puxados por bois e carroças puxadas por burros para o transporte das uvas dos parreirais até a adega quanto a moagem dos cachos no catre, onde todo o processo de esmagamento era feito com os pés.
No começo, a produção podia ser considerada caseira, entre 200 a 1000 litros por ano, comercializados no próprio município e cidades vizinhas em barris, com o passar dos anos, foi aumentando a produção de vinhos e também foram estabelecidas normas técnicas, isto é, uma legislação específica para produtores.
Com isso, a adega de Camarguinho, Ditão e Rocão assumiu uma razão social - Góes Camargo e Cia Ltda, registrando a marca Vinhos Palmeiras.
Isso aconteceu em 1938 exatos 10 anos após a fundação da adega pioneira..
