Detailed description is Veteran's Haven is a non-profit charitable organization helping our veterans in need get back on their feet.
Veteran's Haven, Inc.
was founded in 1994 by Vince Berna.
Working out of a spare room in his apartment, Vince and his wife Judy, began to distribute food and other necessities to veterans in need who had no other means of support.
In 2000, operations were moved to the new Outreach Center in Wayne, MI.
Here, veterans can receive food, clothing, counseling, referrals, and job connections.
In 2004, Veteran's Haven opened a four-unit transitional housing complex in the NorWayne section of Westland.
Each client in housing is responsible for maintaining their own individual apartment providing them with skills needed for life on their own, as well as working together to maintain the over-all property.
All services provided are dependent upon the generosity of others.
