Detailed description is Valley View is a non-profit dedicated to conserving land, preserving history and sharing it with the Greater Cincinnati community Valley View was founded in 2002 when a group of citizens collaborated with the City of Milford to acquire and permanently protect a 130-acre historic farm so it could become a nature center and open space.
More than $2 million was raised by Valley View through donations, public and private grants to make Valley View a reality.
Valley View's land lies almost entirely withion a 100-year floodplain and includes examples of every ecosystem in southwest Ohio including streamside and isolated wetlands, steep wooded hillsides, riparian forests, native tallgrass and wildflower prairies and more than one mile of the East Fork of the Little Miami River.

Valley View also has a rich history that spans about 12,000 years.
Sitting on a broad plain at the confluence of the East Fork and Little Miami Rivers just 8 miles upstream of the Ohio River, this land was the equivalent of a highway interchange for Native Americans.
It contains artifacts dated to 10,000 B.C.
and was at the base of an elaborate mound system known as the Milford Works that was surveyed by the Army Corps at the request of Thomas Jefferson in teh early 1800s.
The descendents of the three families that settled this land shortly after the Revolutionary War still live on surrounding properties and have pictures, letters, stories and artifacts that explain what took place on the land for the past 200 years.
Two historic barns that these families built in the 19th century were on the verge of collapse in 2002 but have now been saved and fully restored by our volunteers..

Today, Valley View is open to the public at no cost and supported 100% by generous donations.
Valley View has more than five miles of trails running through its fields and woodlands.
We also have a community garden with plots open for families and individual gardners.
The garden has a deer fence and automated irrigation system and draws more than 40 families and a scout troop from eastern parts of Cincinnati.
Visitors can hike our trails, fish in the East Fork and enjoy our garden.
We provide hay rides, guided tours and host campouts upon request.
We also coordinate the Clermont County Spring Litter Clean-up that brings out about 2,000 volunteers to clean up litter throughout Clermont County.
We host large cross country track meets and a Haunted Hayrides event each fall.
