The Theatre Department produces one show a semester in Strebel Auditorium.
We invite you to participate and share your talents.
Here is how:.

:::Backstage Talent:::.
Anyone who can make the time commitment can work backstage.
We welcome all techies!.
.
:::Onstage Talent:::.
Auditions are open to everyone from either UC or the greater Utica community, though UC students are given some preference in casting decisions..
.
From time to time, we do a joint show with the Players of Utica, our local community theatre, to give our students the opportunity to work with a wider range of people.
Some students have also chosen to produce their own shows in past years..

:::Performance Schedule:::.
Our performances typically occur the week before Halloween and the last week of February, but dates are occasionally moved to avoid conflicts with other events.
Fall auditions are within two weeks of the start of the semester.
Spring auditions are the first or second week of December.
Information is posted on the board outside Strebel Auditorium and sent out to students through various means.
The production process typically lasts six weeks from the start of rehearsal through the end of performances.
Rehearsals are normally Monday through Friday 7-10:30.
Technical Rehearsals usually start the Saturday before performances..

- Scenes and additional information are posted outside Strebel Auditorium..

- Everyone will be given one of two scenes to read at auditions..

- These scenes will be posted outside Strebel Aud on the call board and on Facebook..

- People attending auditions should dress nicely.
Please no jeans or sweats..

- Some people auditioning will be learning some basic fight choreography, you may bring an additional pair of shoes to wear for this if you are not comfortable doing this in your dress shoes..

:::Syracuse Stage:::.

UC schedules a trip to Syracuse Stage (our excellent regional theatre) each semester.
Any member of the UC community is welcome to join us.
We purchase the tickets at a group rate and sell them through the School of Arts and Sciences office (room 286 in Gordon Science Center, 792-3057).
Transportation is provided at no cost, but you must sign up in the A&S office so that we know the final count..

Buses leave from the Strebel Student Center circle at 1:00pm.
The show starts at 3:00pm..
