Detailed description is Entering our third decade of transformative teaching at the University of Southern Maine.
The Women and Gender Studies program (WGS) is now entering its 3rd decade of transformative teaching at the University of Southern Maine.
Our faculty is drawn from across the university and includes some of the institution’s most accomplished scholars.

Throughout the academic year, the program also offers engaging feminist programming open to the entire campus and surrounding community.
This past October, for instance, we partnered with the USM Theater Department and several campus organizations to present AddVerb Productions "Out and Allied” (theatre pieces by and about LGBTQ youth and their allies).
In addition, WGS co-sponsored talks by prominent Native American activists Ssipsis and Isabelle Knockwood.
