After the doors of Glass Gardens Nursery closed in 2010 on Mount Vernon, Ohio's west end, the greenhouses and approximately 6 acres sat empty or used for miscellaneous non-horticultural purposes..

In the Spring of 2016, Urban Arbors owner, Kim Frye returned to Knox County after 15 years in Chicago to take over this space to rehab the greenhouses and return the space to its historical horticulture purpose.

While preserving the Glass Gardens legacy of a nursery retail, Urban Arbors aims to use this space for additional community goals including helping to revitalize the west end neighborhood from the vandalism and dumping of the past 6 years..
