Detailed description is Curious as to how this house got its name? The story behind Unsinkable Still.

We’ll skip a lot of the back story but in the late winter/early spring of 2010 David and Diane hit a bad spot in their relationship and separated for the second time in their 20 year marriage.
Despite their separation that Memorial Weekend they decided to do one of their favorite things together; go to Boordy Vineyards to see one of their favorite local bands, Captain Quint.
For the first time in a very long time they reconnected.
The last good day they had had together in a very long time was a day in February while on a cruise in Belize.
At Boordy they danced to Captain Quint both days and held each other close as they sang with the band to their song Belize.
Kevin Johnston’s lyrics in that song meant something to both of them.
David is only half joking when he says that the band is the “band that saved the marriage”.
A few weeks later both David and Diane decided to work on their broken marriage..

While Devon was away at camp David and Diane decided to take Drew to Rehoboth Beach for a weekend.
In a discussion on what to do with the extra furniture that had been purchased for the townhouse during the separation, Drew piped in, “Why don’t we buy a beach house and use the furniture there?” David had always said he wanted to retire somewhere “smaller (yard work), sunnier and sandier.
Members of Diane’s family had a beach house when she was a child and it was her dream to someday own one as well.
They looked at each other and Diane asked, “What do you think?” David’s reply was “Well as long as we are going to be down there why not look at properties? Get out the laptop and wireless card and see what you can find.” .

That summer they made several trips to Rehoboth, most of which coincided with a Captain Quint show.
In fact they didn’t miss a single show that year until September when Ravens football trumped the band.
Over the years David and Diane have become friends with the guys in the band.
David is a big fan of Kevin’s song writing.
And after shows he would often talk to Kevin about the lyrics to particular song.
One evening Kevin explained that while the song titled Unsinkable Still sounds like it’s about the band it is really about his personal relationships with friends and family.
That conversation gave new meaning to the song for the couple..

As August started to come to an end David and Diane began to believe that they were going to get the house that they fell in love with on the very first day of their search.
Even though most homes in the neighborhood aren’t named like you often see in beach communities they decided to name their house that would serve as a vacation home now and at some point a retirement home.
They went through many names but none seemed to hit the mark.
Towards the end of the weekend they were standing knee deep in the Atlantic and David turned to Diane and told her he had the perfect name for the house and she was going to accuse him of continuing to be over the top with the band.
She confirmed he was correct on both counts and the beach house got its name..

David and Diane consider themselves lucky for many reasons and the love and support from wonderful friends and family means a lot to them.
