A Rádio Universitária, uma emissora educativa comprometida com a cultura e a cidadania, especialmente da população norte-riograndense, iniciou suas atividades, em caráter experimental, no dia 28 de dezembro de 2000 e foi inaugurada no dia 22 de março de 2001.
