La Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano (UAHC) es una universidad chilena autónoma y acreditada de propiedad privada sin fines de lucro, fundada en 1988, pero cuyos orígenes se remontan a 1975, cuando se crea la Academia de Humanismo Cristiano, impulsada por el Cardenal Raúl Silva Henríquez (SDB), cuyo fin era reunir a un grupo de intelectuales para que analizaran la realidad política, social, económica y cultural de Chile..
La Universidad, también conocida simplemente como La Academia, se encuentra acreditada en las áreas de Gestión Institucional y Docencia de Pregrado por la Comisión Nacional de Acreditación, organismo que garantiza la calidad de la educación superior en Chile, por un período de 3 años entre diciembre de 2008 y diciembre de 2011.
Es asimismo, junto a las universidades Andrés Bello y Diego Portales, la universidad privada que más fondos de investigación del Fondo Nacional de Desarrollo Científico y Tecnológico (FONDECYT) se adjudicó durante el Concurso Regular del año 2009 de este programa.3.
Actualmente, la Universidad imparte 21 carreras conducentes a título y grado de licenciado, 5 programas especiales y de segundas titulaciones y 9 programas de magíster en las áreas de las Ciencias Sociales, Educación, Arte y Cultura, Estado, Economía y Gestión, además de un Doctorado en Educación con veinte años de trayectoria.
El personal docente de la Universidad es de 503 académicos.
