Detailed description is Unity Baptist Church was organized on February 17, 2002 at the home of our pastor Jeffery C.
Powell.
Rev.
Powell had just purchased his home and many wonderful church members helped him clean and paint for our first Sunday service.
the church's first podium was a small wooden ladder balanced on a Coca-Cola crate..

The congregation was so large that we had to meet at the Porter Ellis Community Center for a few weeks.
We then moved to the American Legion for 1.5 years until the church building was complete.
Our faith never wavered and we believed that God would bless us in making our dream become a reality - to build our own church!.

Mr.
Charles Cook was most instrumental in finding the land for our new church home which is located at 6025 Rogers Road, Lizella, Ga.
the groundbreaking was held on Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004 with Mrs.
Lillian Barfield, Mrs.
Mildred Bird, Mrs Mildred Davis, and Mrs Marjorie Henry officially braking ground..

Before the sheet rock was installed on the inner walls, we met to pre-dedicate the building by writing our favorite Bible scriptures on every wall stud..
