Detailed description is We Develop Family Professionals! The Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies has four specializations designed to prepare students for positions in family service organizations, educational settings and programs, corporations, non-profits and government agencies.
Each specialization has entry-level criteria and specific course requirements.
All specializations require close consultation with a faculty adviser.
In all of the specializations, students learn about families through the integration of developmental, theoretical, and empirical information..

The Master of Science in HDFS has three programs of study.
The goal of all programs is to provide students with an understanding of theory and methods relevant to child and family studies and to prepare them to work with families in therapeutic, educational, and community or corporate settings.
The first program has three Core Areas of Study: Adolescent Development; Child Advocacy and Family Policy; and Child Development.
Students may elect a thesis or comprehensive examination option.
The second program, the Marriage and Family Therapy Program, is accredited by COAMFTE and requires a minimum of two years of full-time study, including two summers.
The third program, the Certificate in Adolescent Development, is a one-year, 14 to 15-credit, multidisciplinary program of study.
