The Centre offers a unique and innovative undergraduate diploma program that is designed to ensure students and working professionals with technological backgrounds have the necessary business and entrepreneurial skills to succeed in today’s world.

The only one of its kind in Atlantic Canada, the centre is named after Dr.
J.
Herbert Smith, a graduate of the University of New Brunswick’s Faculty of Engineering who became President and Chief Executive Officer of General Electric Canada.
An inspirational leader who firmly believed in the power of hard work and an entrepreneurial spirit, Dr.
Smith’s endowment funded the establishment of the Centre nearly two decades ago.
His words and wisdom continue to guide the program to this day.
Located on the University of New Brunswick’s Fredericton campus, the Centre is part of the Faculty of Engineering, although any student with a technology or business background can take TME courses.
